Netflix announced that the new animated movie "Connected", created by the production team of Spider-Man: Parallel Universe, will be launched on Netflix on April 30, with a world premiere (excluding Chinese mainland), along with a new trailer.
The title of the official Chinese was also changed to "The Mitchells vs. the Machines." The film was originally released by Sony Pictures, and the earlier schedule was September 16, 2020, and was later withdrawn. Sony Pictures has since sold the film to Netflix for $110 million, canceling the theatrical release plans.

Netflix also unveiled a new cast of dubbed casts, including Fred Amison, Baker Bennett, Christine Tegan and husband John Legend, Charlene Easy, late-night host Conan O'Brien, Sassir Zamata, Jay Farrow, Alex Hersh, Griffin McIlroy and Al Mills, among others. Earlier announcements include Abby Jacobson (voice actress Michelle), Maya Rudolph and Olivia Coleman.
The animated film "Spider-Man: Parallel Universe", released in 2018, is one of the few animated films that has doubled in box office word-of-mouth in recent years. The film cost $90 million to produce and grossed $375.5 million in a global atmosphere ($190 million in North America, $427 million Chinese mainland).
