"New Love" is from the 1993 film of the same name, directed by Er Dongsheng and starring Liu Qingyun and Yuan Yongyi. It is said that this script Er Dongsheng conceived for at least a year, but in the Hong Kong film industry where comedies and police films were prevalent at that time, no one was willing to invest in such a literary film, and Er Dongsheng almost mortgaged his house.
Later, the film was finally successfully filmed, and after its release, it received 30 million box office and swept the Hong Kong Academy Awards that year, winning seven awards such as best director, best screenwriter, best picture, best actress, best supporting actress, and best supporting actor.
Wan Fang, who sang the theme song of the movie, also resounded in the Chinese music scene, and "New Love" became a must-order song in KTV for a while, and triggered countless singers in the music industry to cover songs in the following two decades.
The song was composed by "The Godfather of Asian Music" Bobby Da, lyrics by Huang Yu, and after many screenings, Wan Fang, who had a most loving female voice, was found to sing this song. At that time, Wan Fang was at the low tide of her life, and when she first heard the melody of this song, she burst into tears. But Er Dongsheng is very clever, and he can make a clichéd story very well. The whole film has a taste of old Hong Kong, and the soft tones have the texture of old times. Starting from sorrow and joy, ending with sadness, the gentle narrative rhythm is interspersed with Wan Fang's "New Love", the affectionate Liu Qingyun, the fresh and lovely Yuan Yongyi, and the sad saxophone.

A singer who sells art on the street, an old man who is proficient in eighteen instruments, Zhengdan Ah Ling who is born in a science class, Ajie, a composer who is full of talent but no one appreciates, and a girl who is suffering from cancer in a good time. A musician who adheres to the principle of his dreams and abandons his superior life to live in a cheap building, eats instant noodles, reverses the morning and dusk, and plays saxophone composition. A smiling girl with short hair, who will be shy when she wears a skirt, only wants an engagement ring for 50 yuan, and dreams of being a singer but faces reality.
