On January 3, local time, a Turkish Airlines Boeing 777 cargo plane crashed into a group of birds after taking off in Istanbul, Turkey, causing the plane to return urgently.
At that time, the TK6220 flight was flying to Almaty, Kazakhstan, when suddenly a flock of birds collided head-on with the aircraft, and the nose radome and some sensors were damaged.
As can be seen from the fuselage photos, the head of the aircraft has obvious depressions, and the fuselage is also stained with blood.
After the accident, the airline said, the captain contacted the air traffic control tower at Ataturk International Airport to request emergency landing permission, and then the plane circled in the air to release fuel and finally landed safely.
Afterwards, the airline has replaced another 777F (TC-LJL) to continue the mission.
