author:Young you and me

People who have seen "Journey to the West" know that the Tang monk Xitian took the scriptures, and Sun Wukong and other disciples supported it.

In order to prevent Sun Wukong from disobeying the command, Avalokiteshvara deliberately put a vajra ring on his head and injected a tight hoop mantra.

Therefore, whenever Sun Wukong made trouble, Tang Monk began to chant the mantra, that is, chanting the tightening mantra, which made Sun Wukong have a headache.

So, tang monk chanting mantras, why did Sun Wukong have a headache? In other words, why can the content of the tight hoop spell give Sun Wukong a headache?

We know that "Journey to the West" is a novel about the story of taking the sutra, the whole book is around the story of the sutra to unfold, the so-called sutra, refers to the Buddhist scriptures, but also the true scriptures, therefore, the whole story is related to the Buddhist scriptures and Buddhism, and even the names of people, place names, etc., are actually related to the concept of Buddhism.

Therefore, when Tang Monk recites a mantra, Sun Wukong will have a headache, which is actually related to three aspects, namely, the tightening mantra and emptiness, and the headache.

That is to say, it is these three contents that will cause Sun Wukong to have a headache, how to understand it?

1. What is the Tightening Curse?

Anyone who has read Journey to the West knows that the tight hoop mantra is a mantra passed on by Guanyin to the Tang monks, with only six words in total, and these six words are pronounced specifically for Sun Wukong, that is, Guanyin Bodhisattva is a mantra specifically for Sun Wukong (the Vajra circle he carries on his head is the carrier of this mantra).

Therefore, this tightening spell is only effective for people like Sun Wukong, and it is useless for others.

Therefore, we searched through the mantras of Avalokiteshvara and found that the mantra of heeling the hoop was actually the six-character Daming mantra, that is, the six-character mantra of Om Ma Na Mi Mi. In the sanskrit language of ancient India, this mantra contains the endless blessings and compassion of the Buddhas, and is also a reproduction of the compassion and wisdom of the Buddhas, so the content of this mantra is extremely rich, and it can even be said that this mantra contains great power, great wisdom, and great compassion in the universe.

And Guanyin Bodhisattva passed on such a mantra to the Tang monks, and what they passed on was actually the subtle original mind of Guanyin Bodhisattva, that is to say, when Tang Monk recited this mantra, he actually recited the subtle original heart of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and this Huimiao original mind originally had incredible merits and benefits.

But this mantra is a different matter for Sun Wukong, which is to disturb the emptiness that Sun Wukong has realized.

Second, the emptiness that Sun Wukong realized

In "Journey to the West", Sun Wukong is the disciple of Bodhi Laozu, and Bodhi Laozu is known as the first among the ten disciples of the Buddha, so the realm that Sun Wukong can realize is "Wukong", that is, the realization of Wukong.

That is to say, for Sun Wukong, the realm he has reached can already cut off all defilements and obstacles, and because of this, he can have seventy-two incarnations, and he can turn out a hundred and eighteen thousand miles in one fist, because he has understood the essence of all things, that is, emptiness, in other words, he who has realized this realm will no longer be bound by all things in heaven and earth, and of course, there will be no troubles and obstacles of sentient beings in our world, that is, he has been liberated from the shackles of the world's sea of suffering.

That's why Bodhidharma gave him the name Sun Wukong.

Third, headache and pain

Sun Wukong in "Journey to the West", after being chanted by the Tang monks, will have a headache.

And the essence of this headache is not a real headache, but a pain with pain and trouble.

In Buddhist parlance, it is called the arhat retreat, because Sun Wukong's realization of emptiness is actually the realization of the arhat's fruit position, and the state of this fruit position is much lower than that of the bodhisattva. And this fruit position, after being polluted, will still retreat, that is, enter the pure land, and retreat to the mortal dust.

In other words, the tight mantra recited by Tang Monk may cause Sun Wukong to retreat to the state of an ordinary man, so there is suffering and headache.

Therefore, Sun Wukong's headache is not what we usually call headache, but a kind of retreat, that is to say, for Sun Wukong, the so-called headache is actually a kind of regressive suffering, and the regressive turn becomes the suffering of ordinary people.

Therefore, when we see that as soon as Tang Monk recites the tightening mantra, Sun Wukong has a headache, and these are the truths.
