Recently, the scientific and technological achievements of the grassland biological disaster monitoring and prevention and control team of the Grassland Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences won the first prize of the 2020 Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Grassland Institute achieved a major breakthrough in the first prize of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements in the field of grassland plant protection and research. Researcher Liu Aiping, as the first person to complete the achievements, accepted the award at the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Science and Technology Awards Conference.

Guided by "promoting green development" and "maintaining biosecurity", the research results systematically carry out basic research on basic research such as pest cataclysification mechanism and monitoring, excavation and evaluation of natural enemy resources, and application research on core technologies and products research and development of green prevention and control, based on the design of the whole chain of "basic research and development- assembly integration- demonstration and promotion", aiming at the serious harm caused by locusts, grassland borers and other major pests in the staggered areas of agriculture and animal husbandry in the north, and the lack of green prevention and control technologies and products.
Through more than ten years of systematic research, the study put forward the grassland pest prevention and control strategy of "classification policy and zoning treatment", formed 7 key technologies of green control, solved the problem of 4 major pest hazards in the industrial development, developed 3 types of biological control products, increased the propagation efficiency of natural enemy insects by 3 times, the accuracy of grassland borer attractant products was more than 90%, the field prevention effect of microbial fungal agents exceeded 75%, and the amount of chemical pesticides was reduced by nearly 20%. Construct and improve the sustainable governance system and technical model of major grassland pests such as locusts, grassland borers, and alfalfa pests.
The achievements are "innovative in technology and effective in production", effectively solving the shortcomings of green prevention and control technology for grassland insect pests, and producing better ecological, social and economic benefits, which is of great significance for promoting the green and high-quality development of agriculture and animal husbandry and helping rural revitalization.
