Project introduction and renderings
The Yantian Old Market Town Renewal Project is located in the southeast of Yantian District, adjacent to Yantian Port, and includes the famous Yantian Seafood Street in Shenzhen. The area of land to be demolished and rebuilt is 157,000 square meters, and the proposed renewal direction is residential, commercial and other functions. In the future, it will be built into an urban complex project covering residential, commercial, office, hotel and other property forms.
According to the original plan, Yantian District planned to build the Jiuxu Town project into Shenzhen's Fisherman's Wharf, an international port seaside new city with a leading level and unique marine culture. At that time, it will be equipped with supporting facilities such as primary schools, kindergartens, postal branches, and the construction of affordable housing.

According to the EIA report of the second phase of metro line 8, the second phase of the project was picked up from the end of the "Yantian Station" of the first phase of the project and finally reached the "Xiaomeisha Station" in Yantian District. With a total length of 8.023km, there are four stations in Beishan Road, Yantian Food Street, Dameisha and Xiaomeisha, all of which are laid underground. Construction will begin at the end of June 2019 and is expected to begin operations in June 2024.
Hung On Wai MTR Supporting Facilities:
The first phase of Shenzhen Metro Line 8 is connected from the end of the Liantang Station Station to the end of the turn-back line, after which the line is laid along Guowei Road to the end of Guowei Road, and then the east bend passes through Luohu District Affordable Housing and Wutong Mountain; after leaving the mountain, the line is laid along The No. 7 Road on the east side of the Luohu District Public Security Bureau, and turns southeast in front of the Shenzhen Bus Group parking lot, and sets up Wutongshan South Station below the Bus Station of the Municipal Bus Group; after leaving the station, the line is laid along the Luosha Highway, and after the east fold of Changling Road, it enters Wutong Mountain, and is laid to the east between the Shenyan Second Passage and the Wutongshan Highway Tunnel To the south side of Zhengkeng Reservoir, after which the line enters Yantian District Shenyan Road laying, Shatoujiao Station is set up on the east side of the intersection of Shensha Road, Haishan Station is set up in Yantian District Government, and Yantian Port Station is set up in the Eastern Sunshine Garden (after the station is connected to a Wangji Lake parking lot exit line); after leaving the station, the line turns north into Wutong Mountain, and enters Zhongqing Road on the northwest side of Shenzhen Outer Chinese School, and sets up Shenwai High School Station along Zhongqing Road (the entrance line of the Wangji Lake parking lot in front of the station); after leaving the station, the line passes down the Yanpai Expressway in turn. Yantian Comprehensive Free Trade Zone land and Yantian Three Village Houses were laid after entering Yantian Road, and the terminal station Yantian Road Station was set up between the intersection of Mingzhu Avenue and Tokaido; the total length of the line was 12.3 kilometers.

Project site
In early January 2021, the Shangdong Hotel, located at the junction of Beishan Road and Yansha 2nd Street in Yantian District, began to be emptied; on January 21, 2021, the demolition of the Shangdong Hotel officially began, announcing the completion of the demolition of the subway superstructure of the second phase of metro line 8 (Yantian Road Station - Xiaomeisha Station).

Future planning of yantian
The Yantian District Government released the Sha Tau Kok International Tourism Consumption Cooperation Zone Plan
On the morning of January 28, 2021, at the eighth session of the Fifth People's Congress of Yantian District, Shenzhen, Deng Feibo, governor of yantian district people's government, reported to the assembly on behalf of the yantian district people's government, and deployed the development goals and work for 2021. Mayor Deng Feibo pointed out that Yantian will further promote industrial revitalization and innovation drive in 2021, ensure a good start to the "14th Five-Year Plan", and accelerate the high-quality and comprehensive construction of a modern international innovative coastal urban area suitable for living and working.
Yantian will accelerate the construction of the Sha Tau Kok Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Tourism Consumption Cooperation Zone, focusing on the cross-border duty-free consumption core in Sha Tau Kok, linking four areas such as Yantian Port, Seafood Street, Meisha and OCT East to achieve "one core leadership, four district linkage, quality improvement of the whole region, and interaction between Shenzhen and Hong Kong". Improve the quality of Zhongying Street, and create a "characteristic homestay + Zhongying Street life experience" and "traditional shopping + Hong Kong-style food and leisure" business and tourism district that embodies Hong Kong elements. Implement the reconstruction of Sha Tau Kok Port and plan to build a duty-free international consumption center in Shenzhen. Promote the transformation of Tianxin Industrial Zone and build the "MixC + Harbour City 2.0 Upgrade".
