This is the Mihara City God Temple.
Sanyuan County is not far from Xi'an, about 40 kilometers, 1 hour by car. It has a long history and has been the center of Gyeonggi since ancient times, and many cultural relics and monuments have been preserved. One of the most famous and worth seeing is the Sanyuan City God Temple.
When it comes to the City God Temple, many friends will disagree. It is true that there are too many city god temples across the country. But like the Mihara City God Temple, not many buildings can be completely preserved.
The Sanyuan City God Temple was founded in the eighth year of Ming Hongwu (1375), more than 600 years ago. Many friends may know that the Ming and Qing dynasties were the most prosperous period of Shaanxi's Qin shang economy, and Sanyuan County and several surrounding counties were in the most core area of qin shang economy. In other words, Mihara was very wealthy during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
For example, the mother-in-law of Zhou Ying, the richest woman in the late Qing Dynasty, is more familiar with the mother's home in Luqiao Town, Sanyuan County. When the TV series "That Year the Flowers Bloomed and the Moon Was Round" starring Sun Li was popular, the Zhou Family Compound also attracted many tourists to visit.
Back to the main topic, Sanyuan County, as the commercial and trade center of Shaanxi and even the northwest region, also built a large-scale and magnificent city god temple in the era of the most powerful economic strength. The history books use "the work of the civil engineering, the poor modeling of the ingenuity" to describe the exquisite beauty of this building, and the most fortunate, in more than 600 years of time, it has been basically preserved intact, thus becoming the only well-preserved ancient city god temple complex in China, and it is one of the most complete Ming and Qing ancient building complexes in China.
The entire ancient building of the City God Temple sits in the north-south dynasty, and on the 212-meter north-south axis, there are three gates, four arches, five heavy eaves pavilions, and six levels of courtyards, and on the east and west sides are distributed bells, drum towers and various auxiliary halls.
Before bypassing the temple gate, the tall wall will be overlooked, and visitors will enter a complete layout, intricate and exquisitely built ancient building complex, every detail is worth savoring.
The east and west corridors between the gate and the second gate of the City God Temple are 100 meters long, and are divided into three entrances by a wooden archway and a stone arch, which is a spacious and bright Mingxia structure. The first entrance to the east corridor is inlaid with Yue Fei's handwritten stone carving Zhuge Liang's "Former Master Table", and the West Corridor is inlaid with "Later Out of the Master Table". More than 40 single buildings, such as yingmen, opera towers, bell and drum towers, dedication halls, worship halls, companion halls, and sleeping halls, have their own characteristics. In particular, it is worth mentioning that each building is covered with glass, showing the beauty of golden splendor and radiance, and the exquisite brick carving, wood carving, and stone carving technology make it show the superb craftsmanship of ancient craftsmen.
