author:Red Net

Editor's note: From September 26 to 29, the second China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo will be held in Changsha, with Zhejiang and Jiangxi participating as theme provinces. Today, let's understand the economic and trade cooperation between the theme provinces and Africa, and the cooperation results and customs of the development of the product industry.

Rednet Moment reporter Wang Heng Intern Tan Jieyi sorted out the report

On September 26, the China (Jiangxi)-African Countries Investment Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in Changsha.

Although Jiangxi is thousands of miles away from Africa, the feelings between Jiangxi's old cousins and the African people are also very deep. Since the great navigator Wang Dayuan of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, sailed to Africa more than 680 years ago, the people and stories of Jiangxi have slowly taken root on the African continent.

Africa is an important "going out" market for Jiangxi

Africa has always been an important "going out" market for Jiangxi. In the first eight months of this year, Jiangxi's imports and exports to Africa reached 19.96 billion yuan, an increase of 49.5% year-on-year.

In recent years, cooperation between Jiangxi and Africa has also set off a new upsurge. Jiangxi enterprises "huddled together to go to sea" and cultivated the "circle of friends" in Africa.

According to data released by the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province, in 2020, Jiangxi Province's actual investment in Africa was US$170 million, accounting for 20% of the province's total foreign direct investment in the same period. Jiangxi Province has set up a total of 184 overseas enterprises and institutions in Africa, achieving new results in Economic and Trade Cooperation with Africa. At the same time, Jiangxi Province has signed a new contract for non-contracted projects amounting to 2.55 billion US dollars, of which 7 projects with hundreds of millions of US dollars, involving housing construction, water conservancy, electric power and other fields.

This year marks the end of the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. In the next step, Jiangxi Province's economic and trade cooperation with Africa will strengthen cooperation in the field of infrastructure, and encourage and support enterprises to participate in Africa's infrastructure construction in the mode of "investment, construction and operation integration" and "investment projects". At the same time, we will deepen cooperation in the field of non-resources, promote the construction of non-overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, implement non-agricultural cooperation projects, promote the opening of direct flights between Jiangxi and African countries, and continue to encourage and guide enterprises to expand the import of non-coffee, cocoa, cashew nuts, fruits, tobacco and beef and mutton, as well as red wine and other special agricultural products and foods.

The "Dayuan Art Station" of the Cultural Performance Group set sail

In recent years, relying on a series of foreign cultural exchange platforms, Jiangxi has actively integrated into the national cultural "going out" strategy.

Jiangxi Wenyan Group actively uses the national and provincial foreign exchange platform to carefully build the "Dayuan Art Station" Jiangxi Wenyan overseas travel brand.

From September 20 to October 3, 2019, the Jiangxi Cultural Performance Art Troupe went to Angola, Zambia, Burundi and other african countries to carry out cultural exchange performance activities, achieved complete success, and fired the first shot of the "Dayuan Art Station" Jiangxi Literary Performance Overseas Brand.

During the visit and performance of the three African countries, the Jiangxi Cultural and Performing Arts Troupe was warmly welcomed by the local government and people and overseas Chinese every time they entered a place. When the visiting performance was carried out in Zambia, the mainstream society in Zambia set off a new round of "China fever".
