Why is Zichuan also known as Banyang. Originally, Zichuan was under the jurisdiction of Qingzhou during the Xia and Shang dynasties, and the Qin Dynasty belonged to Qi County. In 155 BC, emperor Jing of Han set up Banyang County here in the second year, named after the Ban River in the south of the city. In 428, the Southern and Northern Dynasties and Yuan Jia changed its name to Beiqiu County in the fifth year, and in 598 AD, the Sui Dynasty Emperor Kai took the name of Zichuan County in the eighteenth year, because it was on the verge of Zishui. Yun of the Chronicle of The Land: "It is said that Yun Yu Li Shui Gong Bi, earth and stone black, several miles, Bo Ruo lacquer, so it is called Zi Shui Ye".
After 1956, it was called Zichuan District. Main tourist attractions: Tanxi Mountain Scenic Area, Pu Songling Former Residence, Kuisheng Garden, Ziqi Mountain, Ma'anShan, Wenfeng Mountain, Ezhuang Waterfall Scenic Area, etc.
