On September 25, the second season of the Rooftop Art Season launched by Fosun Art Center, "Panda Garden| Days on the Clouds", was officially opened on the 4th floor of the "Digital Sky Garden". The first sculpture "Panda" created by artist Zhao Bandi is placed on the "Most Beautiful Terrace on the Bund", allowing the audience to enrich their perception of the world under the observation of the realistic urban landscape and imaginative artistic creation.
The Rooftop Art Season is one of the many thematic activities of fosun Art Center's Public Art Year in 2021, aiming to transform the outdoor rooftop in the sense of urban architecture into a public art space that displays art, connects life and inspires thinking, creates a new urban humanistic landscape through specific field works that fit the spirit of Shanghai and the architectural space of the rooftop, attracts more members of the public to enter and understand public art, and further explores the shaping and far-reaching significance of public art for the spirit of the city. Every year in spring and autumn, Fosun Art Center invites artists to exhibit or create in the "Digital Sky Garden".
In the second season, invited artist Zhao Bandi, as one of the representatives of Contemporary Chinese Avant-garde art, was known for his exquisite skills in "realistic" painting in the early days, and then abandoned painting and turned to the panda as a personal art symbol, intervening in social discussion with the creation of media covering fashion, video, film, performance and so on.
This time, Zhao Bandi tried sculpture for the first time, and combined with his portrait for the "Panda Garden", he specially created a panda-themed sky garden for the terrace of Fosun Art Center, which exudes a unique temperament, not only to create an art field full of various possibilities, but also to convey a humorous and positive spiritual force to the public through the panda image.

Zhao Bandi said.
