"Philosophy has always been very close to social life. In daily life, there are traces of philosophy at any time. But because it is daily life, we are used to it, so we are not aware of it, we do not reflect. This quote comes from Popular Philosophy, written by the "popular philosopher" Aischi.
Who is Aischi? Why is he called a "popular philosopher"? How did he lift the veil of philosophy and let it enter the lives of the general public? "The Story Told by Xi Jinping" is a series of special reports on the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, telling you the moving story of the centennial party.

Aischi's original name was Li Shengxuan. He was born in 1910. At that time, China was worried about internal and external troubles, and the people were not happy. His father, Li Yueyuan, constantly warned Li Shengxuan that whether he was writing poetry or writing articles, he should make sure that everyone could read them, and women and children could understand them.
In 1925, Li Shengxuan was admitted to Yunnan Provincial No. 1 Middle School. At that time, the school was not only one of the cradles of the student movement in Yunnan, but also established a progressive group mainly to study Marxism-Leninism. Here, 15-year-old Li Shengxuan began to come into contact with Marxism-Leninism.
In 1927, Li Shengxuan joined the "Socialist Study Group" while studying in Japan. After the outbreak of the September 18 Incident, he returned to his motherland. At that time, the left-wing cultural movement was booming in Shanghai. How to give play to the tremendous role of Marxist philosophy is a pioneering task of great significance. Li Shengxuan took on this heavy responsibility and published articles under the pseudonym "Aischi".
At the end of 1935, Aischi collected and published the articles published in the semi-monthly magazine "Reading Life" and named it "Philosophical Speech", which had a great influence on the masses. However, the book's bestseller frightened the Kuomintang reactionaries, and it was soon banned and renamed "Popular Philosophy" when it was republished. By 1948, 32 editions of Popular Philosophy had been published, and it had swept the country, and Aischi was called a "popular philosopher".
Aischi has always linked his theoretical pursuit with the revolution and construction cause under the leadership of the party, and has made outstanding contributions to the study and propaganda of Marxism and the cultivation of Marxist theoretical talents. To uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, we need a large number of talents who can do a good job in sinicizing Marxism and encourage people to make unremitting efforts to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
