On August 20, the Intermediate People's Court of Wuzhou City, Guangxi Province, pronounced a first-instance verdict in the case of murder and dismemberment, and the defendant Ye Hao committed intentional homicide and sentenced him to death and deprivation of political rights for life.

The police investigation revealed that the victim, Peng Mou, was a nurse at a hospital in Wuzhou City, and the defendant Ye Hao was a delivery worker at a store in Wuzhou City. Ye Hao and Peng established a romantic relationship after meeting each other through the WeChat "Shake One Shake" platform chat in June 2012, but at the same time, Peng and his ex-boyfriend also maintained a romantic relationship. In this love triangle relationship, Ye Hao, Peng Mou and Peng Mou's ex-boyfriend all know each other, and Ye Hao and Peng Mou quarrel from time to time for this reason.

According to the investigation, on the evening of February 10, 2014, Peng stayed at Ye Hao's home, during which he used his mobile phone to flirt with his ex-boyfriend in front of Ye Hao, and Ye Hao was dissatisfied. The next afternoon, Ye Hao, who was emotionally suffering from gain and loss, felt that he could not fully get Peng, so he had the idea of killing Peng. At about 16:00 on the same day, when Peng was preparing to go to work, Ye Hao took advantage of his lack of preparation and vigorously stuck his neck with his left elbow from behind, and wrapped his right hand around him to prevent the victim from resisting. After Peng fainted, Ye Hao continued to squeeze his neck with both hands, causing him to suffocate to death. Ye was arrested by the police on February 16, 2014.
