In order to prevent virus infection, the competition adopted a combination of online and offline forms, that is, the participants played the final offline stage, and the audience watched the competition online through live webcasting. Although there was no audience at the scene, the enthusiasm of the contestants for singing was not affected in the slightest. The convenience of the Internet also makes this competition cross the time and space boundaries of the venue and transcend national borders. Nearly 10,000 spectators from China, Japan and other countries watched the match online through the live broadcast of China Overseas Chinese Network and Japanese Headlines.

After a fierce competition, six groups of contestants from China and Japan each won the Most Outstanding Award, the Excellence Award, the Singing Award, the Censor Award, the Performance Award, the Special Award and other awards. Among them, Minako Watanabe won the best prize in the Japanese group with a well-known and touching song "The Moon Represents My Heart" in China; Liu Daohui, a Chinese resident in Japan in Tokyo, touched the audience with a Japanese performance song "Camellia Inn" (Japanese song title: "サザンかの宿") and won the best award in the Chinese group.

Zhang Yifan, director of the organizer Japan-China Communications Society, said that due to the ravages of the new crown epidemic, the organizing committee once hesitated whether to continue to hold the competition this year, but the enthusiastic inquiries and encouragement of the fans of "Japan-China Karaoke" touched the organizing committee; coupled with the fact that this year is also the "Year of Promoting Sino-Japanese Cultural and Sports Exchanges", the organizing committee finally decided to overcome all difficulties and insisted that this competition, which is loved by Chinese and Japanese fans, be held as scheduled. The epidemic cannot stop the singing of Sino-Japanese friendship, and it is even more necessary to convey a fiery positive energy to people at this time. In the future, we will continue to use songs to convey friendship and build bridges of Friendship between China and Japan! We will run this platform well, so that every friend of China and Japan can express their sincere feelings of loving peace with songs.

Since 1998, the Japan-China News Agency has held a Japan-China karaoke contest, which uses the unique form of Japanese people singing Chinese songs and Chinese singing Japanese songs to deepen exchanges between the people of the two countries. The event, which brings together many "fans", has long become An annual Sino-Japanese cultural exchange event in Japan.

I would like to thank you in particular to the friendly cooperation units that have sponsored and supported this competition. Let us look forward to the early end of the epidemic, the 24th session next year will be held as scheduled, and the song of peace and friendship between China and Japan will be sung again!
