In the second year of Tang Wende (888 AD), after the death of Emperor Li Ofe of Tang, the 22-year-old Li Ye succeeded to the throne as Emperor Zhaozong. At this time, the Tang Dynasty had reached the end of its period, the imperial power of the Tang Dynasty was declining, and the ministers were vying for power and profit, especially the eunuchs and feudal forces in order to seize control of the Tang Dynasty, and there was endless internal strife and chaos.

In the third year of Tang Guanghua (900 AD), eunuchs rebelled and imprisoned the emperor to control the imperial government. After a series of battles, the most powerful of the clans, given the name "Zhu Quanzhong", had Zhu Wen eliminate the eunuch forces and abduct Li Ye of Tang Zhaozong to Luoyang, turning him into a puppet in his own hands and controlling the government.

Zhu Quanzhong was born on December 5, 852, in the sixth year of the middle school. Zhu Quanzhong' original name was Zhu Wen (朱文), a native of Wugouli (午沟里) in Song Prefecture (present-day Zhongshan County, Anhui Province). He lost his father at a young age, and when he was young, he was a idle and unproductive scoundrel.

In the fourth year of Qianfu (877), Zhu Quanzhong joined the Huangchao Army, rebelled against the imperial court, made many military achievements, and soon rose to the rank of general. After the establishment of the Daqi regime, he served as a defense envoy of Tongzhou and led an army to attack Hezhong. Because of repeated defeats in battles and fear of being punished, he defected to Tang and surrendered to Wang Chongrong. Emperor Xuanzong of Tang made Zhu Wen the Grand General of Zuo Jinwuwei and the deputy envoy of the Zhongxing Camp in Chonghe, and gave him the name "Quan Zhong". In the third year of Zhonghe (883), he was also given the post of Emissary of Xuanwu Jiedushi, and then defeated Huang Chao.

After the fall of Huang Chao, the Tang Empire had already existed in name only, and the various feudal towns supported the army and respected themselves, among them, Zhu Quanzhong was made of Xuanwu Festival, Li Keyong of Hedong Festival, Li Maozhen of Fengxiang Festival, Liu Rengong of Lulong Festival, Qian Yong, deputy ambassador of Zhenhai Festival, and Yang Xingmi, deputy ambassador of Huainan Festival, were the most powerful.

In the first year of Tianfu (901), Emperor Zhaozong Li Ye was imprisoned by the eunuch Han Quanzhi, and the chancellor Cui Yinnai summoned Zhu Quanzhong to rescue him. Han Quanzhi had no choice but to turn to Fengxiang to make Li Maozhen, zhu Quanzhong attack Fengxiang, and Fengxiang was waiting for help. In the third year of Tianfu (903), Jiedu had Li Maozhen kill the eunuch Han Quanzhi and more than seventy other people, reconcile with Zhu Quanzhong, escort Emperor Zhaozong Li Ye out of the city, and Zhaozong returned to Chang'an.

Zhu Quanzhong, who had long wanted to claim the title of emperor, had been forcing Emperor Chan to take his place, killing the chancellor Cui Yin and forcing Emperor Zhaozong to move the capital to Luoyang. Soon, Zhu Quanzhong felt that instead of keeping Zhaozong like this, it was better to kill him as soon as possible, so he teamed up with his adopted sons Zhu Yougong, Jiang Xuanhui and others to plan to kill Zhaozong Li Ye. "Xuan Hui and Zhang Tingfan's infighting will be fully loyal." Quan Zhong hated the emperor for not passing on Zen intentions, but plotting to kill people" (New Book of Tang, vol. 223).

In August of the first year of Tianyou (904), a bloody coup directed by Zhu Quanzhong was staged in Luoyang. In the middle of the night, Jiang Xuanhui, Zhu Yougong, Shi Shuqun and others secretly led "a hundred warriors to prostrate themselves, and their words are urgent, please see the emperor." When the palace door opened, Jiang Xuanhui ordered more than a dozen soldiers to be left behind. He took another part of the soldiers, shouted and went straight to the palace, killed Zhaoyi (a title of the emperor's concubine), Pei Zhenyi, and then broke into the emperor's bedroom and killed Zhaozong Li Ye and Zhaoyi Li Wanrong.

However, Zhu Quanzhong, who was the black hand behind the scenes, actually threw up his bag, and in order not to bear the crime of killing jun, he killed all his adopted sons Zhu Yougong, Jiang Xuanhui, Shi Shuqun and others. And Jiang Xuanhui, who directly commanded the murder of Li Ye of Zhaozong, ended up the most miserable, first splitting the car and then being burned.

In the first year of Kaiping (907), the Tang Dynasty was deposed, Zhu Quanzhong declared himself emperor, changed his name to Huang, and built the capital Kaifeng, with the state name "Liang", the historical name "Hou Liang", and the posterity called Later Liang Taizu. He made Li Li the King of Jiyin and killed li the following year, thus ending 289 years of rule in the Tang Dynasty and entering a period of turmoil in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.

However, Zhu Quanzhong did not have a good ending. In his later years, the court was mired in a power struggle. Zhu Quanzhong was cruel and murderous. The lady was able to dissuade her when she was alive, but after her death, she committed wanton sexual immorality and even incest, including her daughter-in-law, who had to go to the palace to serve and sleep. In June of the second year of Later Liang Qianhua (912), due to the dispute over the heir to the throne, his own son Zhu Youjue led a coup d'état, and Zhu Youjue's servant Feng Tingchen stabbed a knife into Zhu Wen's abdomen, and the tip of the knife penetrated his back. After Zhu Quanzhong's death, the corpse was wrapped only in broken felt, and it was hastily buried under the palace, not even the coffin. He was 59 years old and reigned for 6 years.
