Chen Xiaocui (1902–1968), also known as Xuan (璻), also spelled Cuina, was a native of Cuijun and Cuiyin Lou, qiantang Hang County (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). She was a poet and painter during the Republic of China period. Her father was the literary scholar Chen Xuyuan, so her family learning was very far-reaching, and she was influenced by poetry and painting from a young age, and she was known as a "prodigy" at an early age, which shows her talent.

Chen Xiaocui was able to compose poetry at the age of 13 and published the poems in the "Declaration", and at the same time she was also engaged in english book translation, in the process she discovered realistic Illustrations of Western figures, which aroused her strong interest, and copied one of them down and pasted it on the wall. When she was 17 years old, she learned to paint from Yang Shiyou, and even reached the level of obsession with "sleeping and eating, looking directly with her eyes, and seeing paintings without seeing people". Her female paintings are delicate but firm, the colors are fresh and elegant, the painting style is high and elegant, and she learned the painting style of Shen Zhou and Tang Yin, but she also showed her aesthetic taste in the picture. Later, he learned to paint flowers and birds with Feng Chaoran, and his flower and bird paintings were as beautiful and elegant as the style of female paintings.

She attaches great importance to the cultivation of her own spiritual personality, and she has three creeds: noble personality, naïve interest, and hard work. And we must quit "complacency, vanity, jealousy" in order to present the picture with a fresh and elegant atmosphere.

In 1934, she founded the Women's Calligraphy and Painting Society in Shanghai. After that, she also held two "Four Painting and Calligraphy Exhibitions" with Feng Wenfeng, Xie Yuemei and Gu Fei, which was once rumored to be a good story in Shanghai. In 1958, he was hired as a painter at the Chinese Academy of Painting in Shanghai. It was only because of her introverted but very strong personality that on July 1, 1968, she could not withstand the persecution of the "Cultural Revolution" and committed suicide by gas poisoning.
