Oriental Mirror Image - Gao Wenxiu Photography Exhibition" was exhibited in Building 1 of Liaoning Friendship Hotel
On august 6, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship and the "China-Japan Local Exchange and Cooperation Activity Month" held by the Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Province, the "Oriental Mirror Image - Gao Wenxiu Photography Exhibition" was held at the Liaoning Friendship Hotel.
Kang Jie, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, Ying Zhongyuan, director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Sun Delan, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and secretary general of the Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, visited the exhibition. Hiroshi Yokoi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the People's Republic of China, Hideki Ishizuka, Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Shenyang, and Jun Kato, President of the Toyama Prefectural Art and Culture Association of Japan, visited the exhibition and wrote inscriptions; the Toyama Prefectural Friendship Delegation, the Parliamentary Delegation, and the Entrepreneur Delegation also visited the exhibition. Leaders and guests from both sides gave warm praise to the photography exhibition.

In the 34 years since Liaoning Province and Toyama County concluded friendly province-county relations in 1984, the two sides have carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation in many fields such as economy, culture, tourism, and sports. This year coincides with the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship, in order to effectively implement the spirit of Premier Li Keqiang's instruction that "in inter-local exchanges and cooperation with Japan, Liaoning Province should give full play to its advantages and walk ahead", the Liaoning Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, with the support of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, held the "China-Japan Local Exchange and Cooperation Activity Month", and the "Oriental Mirror Image - Gao Wenxiu Photography Exhibition" is one of the main series of activities.

Previously, Chinese photographer Gao Wenxiu during his travels to various parts of China and Japan, using the lens to capture the scenery of the two countries and the life and work scenes of the people, using pictures to freeze a wonderful moment, showing the same as the chinese and Japanese civilizations under the oriental starry sky, similar to the characteristics of heritage, whether it is architecture, clothing, folklore, culture, there are mirror-like similarities and interesting points, this time, a total of 20 photographic works of China and Japan with similar picture styles or contents are selected to enhance the mutual understanding and feelings of the two peoples. The exhibition lasts for one month.

Artist Profile
Gao Wenxiu, photographer and curator, graduated from the Photography Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1987, and is currently a member of the China Photographers Association and a director of the China Art Photography Society.
He has held many personal photography exhibitions and academic exchanges in the United States, France, Japan and other countries, and has been awarded the Outstanding Photographer of Pingyao International Photography Exhibition, twice nominated for the Golden Road Award of the Chinese Art Photography Society, and the Outstanding Photographer of Shenyang International Industrial Photography Exhibition.
In 1992, he held a solo exhibition in Los Angeles, USA, and in 2007, he held the "Photographer Gao Wenxiu Focus on 'St. Petersburg' Special Photography Exhibition" in the Shenyang Expo Park. In 2016, a solo photography exhibition of "Beautiful Myanmar" was held in France. In 2013, his works "The Story of Philadelphia", "Inle Lake" and "Baigu Countryside" were collected by the Liaoning Museum; in 2014, his work "Ten Years of Trees and a Hundred Years of Trees" was collected by the Chinese Academy of Engineering; in 2015, his works "Want to Fly", "Like Smoke In the Past" and "NayPyidaw Shwedagon Pagoda" were collected by the Huludao City Museum; in 2017, the work "Gathering Materials and Talents" was collected by Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts.
