This achievement is inseparable from the efforts of the informatics coaching team of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Middle School, which is only a small part of the results of the Junior High School Informatics Competition. According to statistics, since the launch of the informatics competition, the team has tutored students to win the first prize of the national league 474 times, ranking first in the country. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Middle School was also awarded the "Pilot Base for Bridging Training of Top Innovative Talents in Basic Discipline Informatics" by Tsinghua University in 2020, and the "Liberal Arts Talent Co-education Base" by Peking University in 2021. In addition to the informatics competition, the five university discipline competition teams of Jizhong also send many talents to top universities every year.
In the lecture, Xiong Chao shared the concept of cultivating top-notch innovative talents in informatics in Jizhong, with the purpose of discovering and cultivating a group of students who are interested and talented in certain subject areas, providing them with a platform to display their talents, laying a solid foundation for their lifelong development, and sending top-notch innovative talents to the country and society that adapt to the development of the times.
He also explained some of the learning requirements for introductory informatics training and some of his experiences in competition coaching over the years. "Hobbies are the best teachers." Xiong Chao told parents not to let children learn informatics with a utilitarian heart, but to have children really like, only by truly liking and loving, children can enjoy the fun of informatics. At the same time, it is also necessary to adopt scientific training methods, do not instill, do not cram, do not pull up seedlings to promote growth, and pay attention to the improvement of students' active learning ability and innovative thinking ability. He said: "We must look up at the stars and be down-to-earth, only in this way can we continue to overcome difficulties and climb the peak." ”
