On July 1, 2021, Xu Benyu, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the Yichang Federation of Social Sciences, Wang Ping, Vice Chairman, and Chen Zhen, Director of the Work Department of the Society, came to the Yichang Library to investigate the popularization of social sciences. Deputy Curator Xue Ling and Peng Dinghong made a report on the construction of the base and the popularization of social science in Hubei Province as the base for social science popularization education (Yichang) in Hubei Province. Chairman Xu and his entourage first came to the reader service department and inquired in detail about the basic situation of the reader service of our library; in the audio and video hall of the main venue for carrying out large-scale social science popularization education activities, they listened to the development of the series of lectures on "A Hundred Years of Glory -- Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Cpc" in our library; they watched the "Yichang Legal Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" in the exhibition hall on the fourth floor, and listened to the relevant work reports of the library on the exhibition of social science exhibitions in our museum and the activities of the study and education theme of party history. Subsequently, Chairman Xu and his entourage also investigated the work of the Three Gorges Cultural Forum, the Three Gorges Rule of Law Academy, and the Three Gorges Rule of Law Forum. During the discussion, Chairman Xu affirmed the construction of the venue, the development of activities and the operation of the mechanism of the social science popularization base of our museum. We praised the construction of the student volunteer service base and the development of volunteer service work in our museum. Put forward preliminary ideas on this year's support base of the Municipal Federation of Social Sciences to carry out lectures by famous social science experts and introduce the Jingchu Social Science Forum of Hubei Province into Yichang, and hope that the Yichang City Library will strive to create a national model city of civilization for our city, continue to give play to the social science popularization and education function of the base, and become a public cultural place that readers are satisfied with.
