In ancient times, the nobles had private gardens dedicated to field hunting, and the purpose of field hunting was mainly to train troops, because "the major affairs of the country are in the worship and rong".
The outer fence refers to the boundary and scope, and the inner grid is a ditch that restricts the activity of animals. Later, the Shang Zhou's field system inherited this tradition and became a piece of farmland with longitudinal and furrowed channels.
Therefore, "field" is extended to the field of farming, referring to the mature land that can be cultivated.
The "tian" in the ancient text is often falsely referred to as "dian", referring to dianfu outside of Wang Yi. The "Tian" in the surname was originally after Chen Guo's son fled to the State of Qi, and his descendants changed their surname to Tian. In the ancient characters of Tian and Chen, the glyphs are slightly different, and the pronunciation is exactly the same.
