The 12th China Go Dragon Star Battle is sponsored by the Chinese Weiqi Association and co-organized by the Go Shogi Channel co-organized by the Weiqi Shogi Channel, and the tournament consists of 22 people, divided into two groups, A and B, each group of 11 people. The 22-member team consists of 8 seeded players, Jiang Zhujiu and Duan Rong, who were selected over 40 years old (born on or before December 31, 1980), Wu Guangya and Mao Ruilong, who were between 30 and 40 years old (born between January 1, 1981 and December 31, 1990), and Zhang Tao, Liao Yuanhe, Sun Tengyu and Huang Yunsong, who were 20 to 30 years old (born between January 1, 1991 and December 31, 2000). Aged 20 and below (born on or after January 1, 2001), Chen Haoxin, Pan Tingyu, Wang Shuo and Jin Yucheng qualified, and Li He and Zhou Hongyu in the women's group qualified.
The tournament is challenged upwards by the bottom of each group, with the winner advancing, and the winner of each group advancing to the semi-finals with the largest winner and the last winner. If there is a tie for the most wins, the last winner with the most wins is taken. If the most winner and the last winner are the same person, the second most winner is taken. If both groups are all won by one person, the two go straight to the final. The semi-finals consist of the winner of Group A against the winner of Group B, the winner of Group A with the most winner against the final winner of Group B, and the winner of the final round. The semi-finals are a single-elimination elimination, and the final is a three-game win-loss, three-game two-win. The prize money for the winner is 200,000 yuan, and the second prize is 80,000 yuan.
