The Red Army is not afraid of expeditions and difficulties, and thousands of rivers and mountains are just waiting for idleness. In the long journey of thousands of rivers and mountains, our Red Army soldiers left many touching and profound stories of the Long March.

The Long March, leaving many stories of promise and waiting. In 1934, the martyr Li Lianxing entrusted his only son, the son born to his ex-wife, to his current wife, Ding Zhaodi, and joined the Long March himself. Although Ding Zhaodi is not a birth mother, Ding Zhaodi keeps the promise she made to her husband, single-mindedly takes care of her children and grows up, and also helps take care of her eight grandchildren. She kept going, and she was confident that her husband would come back. It was not until 1953, a certificate of martyrdom, that Ding Zhaodi learned that the martyr Li Lianxing had died in a battle. Another story I know about waiting is more emotional. In 1932, Wang Jinchang joined the Red Army, and before leaving, he told his wife Duan Guixiu: "I will leave for three or five years at most, and you must wait for me to return." The same promise, Duan Guixiu has been sticking to. In 1953, a martyr's certificate was delivered to Duan Guixiu, who did not believe that her husband had died, and firmly believed that the martyr Wang Jinchang would return alive.

The Long March has left many stories of deep water love between the military and the people. In November 1934, the Long March of the Red Army came to Rucheng, Hunan Province, and was stationed in the area of Shazhou Village. The cold rain had already penetrated the soldiers, and the villager Xu Xiexiu let the three female Red Army soldiers sleep in their houses. The soldiers of the Red Army saw that Xu Xiexiu's family did not even have a complete quilt, and before leaving, they decided to leave the only quilt they had for Xu Xiexiu. After repeated resignation, half of the quilt was left to Xu Xiexiu. There is also a story about the Red Army Bowl that has influenced generations. In the winter of 1934, villager Zhang Tangying's home, passing by the Red Army came to spend the night. Zhang Tangying's parents enthusiastically delivered rice and vegetables to them and healed the injured Xu Platoon Leader. After recuperating from his injuries, Xu Platoon Leader left a porcelain bowl before leaving, and agreed to meet again after the victory of the revolution. But this covenant of reunion has not yet been fulfilled. But this porcelain bowl embodies the special feelings of Zhang Tangying's ancestors and grandchildren for the Red Army.

The Long March has left many stories of adhering to the belief that "the iron heart follows the party". In July 1936, the 8th Company of the 274th Regiment of the Red Fourth Front crossed the grassland for the third time, and there was no food, so everyone had to dig up wild vegetables and eat grass roots. Soldier Zhou Guangcai and his comrades-in-arms ate their own half-cut cowhide belts, leaving the remaining half-cuts as a souvenir to be taken to Yan'an to see Chairman Mao. In this way, the comrades-in-arms, with a vision of the victory of the revolution, starved and preserved the half-cut belt. The one-legged general Zhong Chibing completed the Long March with one leg, and how could he have such a feat if he was not firm in his heart! Comrade Zhong Chibing was wounded in the leg during the battle and could not reach the line of fire until the end of the battle. Afterwards, the doctor performed an amputation for him for more than three hours with a chopping knife and a saw, and after the operation, he was infected several times, and finally amputated from the base of his thigh. After the operation, Comrade Zhong Chibing walked the Long March on crutches and one leg.
