Actor Anton Yelchin, who played the role of "Chekov" in several recent Star Trek films, died unexpectedly in a car accident on Sunday local time in the United States, at the age of 27. His spokesman, Jennifer Allen, publicly confirmed the news.
The accident occurred around 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, when Anton Yelchin allegedly got out of the car temporarily and the car suddenly moved backwards causing severe trauma and eventually causing his death.
