"The first time I put on the 'World Peace' shirt, I felt like it was the stupidest thing to do. It was about 2011 when I left the bench and they shouted 'Ci Shiping!' I don't want to take off my warm-up suit, I want to change back to my original name. But then I got used to it, and everyone got used to it. But what's interesting now is that I'm married. My name is 'Metta Ford-Artest.' 'It's my wife's last name combined with my last name.'" ”
In 2011, his original name was Ron Artest was changed to Metta World Peace, on the grounds that "then people can't say they hate world peace." ”
Ci Shiping's wife, Maya Ford, is a Korean-Canadian model, and there are reports that the two began dating in 2012.
