Wei Xiaomao's father in Xiaojingyu Village often quarreled with Wei Yingchuan, the second treasurer of TongyiTang, and swept the four strings. Influenced by his father's generation, Wei Xiaomao liked opera since he was a child, learning to sweep four strings with his father at the age of 12 and playing three strings at the age of 14, during which he was guided by the teacher Yue Zhibao (Yue Yongming's father) of the provincial drama school. At the age of 17, he began to learn Jinhu and Oh Na. At the age of 19, he went to the countryside with the troupe to perform, mainly based on sanxin and Jinhu, and at the age of 21, he worked as a violinist in the Wutai County Gounan Jin Opera Troupe. In the 1990s, he returned to Taiyuan to join the private theater troupe, and at this stage, he often performed and cooperated with ding Jiandong, a teacher of the provincial drama school, and was guided and taught by the teacher for many years, and the performance level has been greatly improved. He has successively served as an accompanist in shanxi Bafang Qunying Jin Opera Troupe, Xiaoniu Gui Ying Jin Troupe, and Taiyuan Jin Opera Performance Troupe. For more than 40 years, he has been learning with an open mind and has repeatedly learned from Niu Qiaozhen, Han Quanhong and other artistic predecessors. From 2008 to 2012, he was invited to participate in the "Into the Big Theater Stage" of Shanxi Satellite TV and the "Super Ticket Friends" column of Taiyuan TV for many times, playing the piano for actors and ticket holders.

It is also a coincidence that in various performance activities, I have seen Niu Qiaozhen's live accompaniment many times. Teacher Niu accompanied Zhuang Dafang, the piano sound was loud, exciting, melodious, and the orchestra and actors were integrated, in one go. As the accompanist of the orchestra, Wei Xiaomao was attracted by the accompaniment art of Teacher Niu, and he knew that the art of endless practice and learning was endless. After Mr. Niu retired, he participated in opera activities in The Drinking Horse River Park to accompany the actors, Wei Xiaomao often went to observe and learn, and Teacher Niu instructed him on the use of bow and fingering on the spot. Under the guidance of Teacher Niu, Wei Xiaomao benefited a lot and specialized in the art of accompaniment.

In the 1950s, the Jin opera band had the saying "Zhongzi, Ma'er, Bai Jinshan, Genju, Liu Zhu, and Sanwazi", and the "Three Wazi" here refers to Tian Jiuyun, the fourth generation of Jinhu players of Jin opera. The accompaniment period between Tian Jiuyun and Bai Jinshan was the golden stage of cooperation between Ding Guoxian, Niu Guiying and Guo Fengying, and the reform of the old style of Jin opera was also completed during this period. When Tian Jiuyun was rehearsing the play "Life and Death Card", he created the silk string song "Yellow Ring Sorrow", and some troupes named it "Jiuyun Qu" as a memorial to Tian Jiuyun. Tian Jiuyun was wise and talented, and trained Niu Qiaozhen, the first generation of female violinists of Jin opera.

Niu Qiaozhen was admitted to the Taiyuan Drama School in 1960 and studied Jinhu. In 1962, he was transferred to the Taiyuan Experimental Jin Opera Troupe as a violinist, and in December of the same year, he was trained by Mr. Tian Jiuyun, the fourth generation of Jinhu players. He has played the piano for many old artists such as Hua Yanjun, Zhang Meiqin, Ma Qiuxian, as well as guo Caiping, Wu Zhong, Li Yuexian, Yan Huizhen, Gao Cuiying, Bai Guiying, a descendant of the Ding Pai, and many artists such as Xie Tao and Wu Lingyun, winners of the Plum Blossom Award.
