People's Daily Beijing, October 25 (Xu Wenjin) The 14th "Aeon Cup" Multilingual National Interpretation Competition came to an end on October 23 at the Beijing Second Chinese College. This year's Japanese Interpretation Competition is divided into three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final. In the end, Yu Xiaojiao of Xi'an Jiaotong University won the first prize in the Japanese simultaneous interpretation group, and Liu Huiyan of Beijing Foreign Chinese University won the first prize in the Japanese consecutive interpretation group.

This year's interpretation competition continues to use a combination of online and offline competitions to ensure the normalization of epidemic prevention work. Contestants from all over the country competed on the same stage through the Internet, and the judges gathered offline to comment on the wonderful performance of the contestants.

This year's Japanese interpretation competition is divided into three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final, and the interpretation competition between Japanese translation and Chinese translation and Japanese translation is carried out in the two projects of consecutive interpretation and simultaneous interpretation, and the content of the competition involves current politics, economy, science and technology, society and other fields, and the comprehensive level of the participants is examined from many aspects such as professional quality, skill application, and information transmission.

The competition was fiercely competitive, with scores of almost the same scores, and even two players scoring the same score had to vote. After a fierce competition, Yu Xiaojiao of Xi'an Jiaotong University won the first prize in the Japanese simultaneous interpretation group, and Liu Huiyan of Beijing Foreign Chinese University won the first prize in the Japanese consecutive interpretation group.

Professor Cheng Wei, Vice President of Beijing Second College of Foreign Chinese, said in his speech that the "AEON Cup" competition has become a multilingual interpretation brand activity with great influence at home and abroad. Wang Gangyi, secretary general of the China Translation Association, said in his speech that translation work is closely integrated with "foreigners reading China", and we must carry out mutual learning and exchanges with different countries with full confidence, and establish a comprehensive and objective image of China. It is hoped that through the platform of the National Interpretation Competition, new generations of talents will be cultivated and cultural exchanges and dissemination will be further promoted.

In his video speech, Hiroshi Yokoo, Chairman of Aeon (China) Investment Co., Ltd., pointed out that the interpretation competition is a platform for students to express themselves and also provides assistance for translation teaching. He wished the contestants a bright spot in all walks of life, build a bridge of friendship between the two countries, and contribute to peace in the Asian region.

According to Professor Yang Ling, Dean of the Kita-2-Wai Japanese Language Institute, since its inception in 2008, the competition has been held every year at the Beijing No.2 Foreign Chinese College, and the participants are all from college students and graduate students at home and abroad. Over the years, the competition has not only provided an opportunity for players to show their self-ability and exercise their comprehensive quality, but also help teachers engaged in translation teaching and students who are interested in translation to gain inspiration through learning and exchanges in the process of competition.

The Aeon Cup National Multilingual Interpretation Competition is jointly sponsored by the China Translation Association and beijing Second Foreign Chinese College, and hosted by the North Second Foreign European College, covering 7 languages: Japanese, French, Russian, German, Korean (Korean), Spanish and Arabic. After six months of selection, 115 people finally stood out from 194 players from 92 universities at home and abroad and participated in the competition for the semi-final and final.
