Tan Zhuo won the Special Jury Prize at the 18th Italian Asian Film Festival

The just-concluded 18th Italian Asian Film Festival, held in the heart of Rome in 1930 at the prestigious Farnese Art Cinema, opened on June 17 with a total of 28 films from 11 Asia-Pacific countries and regions, with screenings of Korean and Vietnamese films.

When announcing the results of the award, the president of the film festival, Antonio Termeini, said that Chinese director Tang Xiaobai's film "Punch, Mama" as a surprise film of this film festival has received a warm response, Tan Zhuo's interpretation is particularly prominent and unanimously praised, and the jury awarded a special award to praise Tan Zhuo's wonderful interpretation of a woman's determination to regain her lost dignity as a mother.

Organized by the Robert Bresson Film Foundation, the Italian Asian Film Festival aims to select the best films in East Asia, with a special focus on young and emerging directors. The chairman of this year's jury is italian female director Valentina de Amsis, and the best film was won by Director Zhang Zuoji from Taiwan, "That Dearest Stranger".

Directed by Tang Xiaobai, "Punch Out, Mother" tells the story of a stubborn young mother Bai Yang (played by Tan Zhuo), who loses everything on a whim and is separated from mother and child, and the child is forced to be raised by her sister (played by Tian Hairong); Until he met Shen Hao (played by Tian Yu), a man with a strange personality and a warm tongue, with his help, Bai Yang rekindled his fighting spirit and made up his mind to regain everything he had lost. And what was waiting for poplar in front of her was completely beyond her imagination...

"Punch, Mom" will be released nationwide in 2021.
