Around 1880, photographer Berndt and his three cats
The photographer, harry Pointer, at first took common photos of cats sleeping in baskets or drinking milk, but around 1870 he began to add various props to his photos, and to capture specific poses of cats and add some humor to the pictures. He may have been one of the first accomplished pet cat photographers, and by 1884 Berndt had published more than 200 photographs in the album The Brighton Cats.
