How Steel is Made

"How Steel is Made", this book is an autobiographical novel by the Soviet hero Niostrovsky, the author in the case of total paralysis, blindness, with his own combat experience as the material, with tenacious will, took three years to complete this work. The book describes how young people exercised themselves during the hard years of war. The protagonist, Paul Kochagin, persisted in his faith and was physically handicapped, eventually making himself a staunch communist.

Paul Kochakin was very mischievous from an early age, and was expelled from school and started working because he sprinkled smoke on the dough that the priest had prepared to make the Easter cake during the make-up exam. Paul was transferred to the power plant a few years later and met the sailor Zhu Helai. It was during the period of rebellion, and the Bolsheviks organized by Lenin resisted the german army that invaded the country. Paul eventually became a Bolshevik, fighting bravely in the army and loyal to the Revolution, but his body was weakened by the war. But he did not give up and worked hard for the return team. In the end he was blind in both eyes and paralyzed in both legs, but with his tenacious will, he created his own novel, kept up with the team, and gained a spiritual new life.
