Hu Xudong, whose real name is Hu Xudong, was an associate professor at the Institute of World Literature of the School of Foreign Chinese of Peking University. The Nandu reporter noticed that after the tragic news came out, people in the academic circles, poetry circles, and publishing circles sent out articles of mourning. The famous poet Zhang Zhihao wrote in the circle of friends: "Many years ago, we worked as a judge of the Cherry Blossom Poetry Club at Wuhan University, and I was under the impression of a lively and talkative poet... Hu was born in Chongqing in 1974 and later moved to Hubei. In 1991, he was admitted to the department of Chinese of Peking University, and soon after entering the school, he joined the "May Fourth Literary Society" and joined the poetry group of Peking University, saying that he gradually changed from a "foul-mouthed southern youth" to a "person who likes to communicate with people", and later took over as the president of the literary society. After graduating with a bachelor's degree, he transferred to the Department of Spanish Languages of Peking University (now the College of Foreign Chinese), studied under Zhao Zhenjiang, and successively obtained a master's degree in comparative literature and world literature, a doctorate degree in modern and contemporary Chinese literature, and since 2002, he has worked at the Institute of World Literature of Peking University, engaged in the research of comparative literature and world literature, world poetry since modernism, and Latin American literature. and other professional courses and a number of undergraduate courses.

Hu Xudong once said: "Writing poetry on campus can give you an unexpected life." During his college years, he continued the veins of Xidu, Haizi, Luo Yihe, Xichuan, Zang Di, Gome and others, and began to write poetry, over the years, he wrote poetry collections such as "Waterside Book", "The Power of Calendar", "Lifelong Undercover", "Travel/Poetry", essay collection "Floating Nonsense", "Eating Wild Thoughts", etc., and his works have been included in a variety of poetry anthologies, and have won folk poetry awards such as "Liu Lian Poetry Award".

In 2008, he was invited to participate in the International Writing Program (IWP) at the University of Iowa, where he became a honorable fellow, and in 2012 he was the only Asian guest to attend the World Poetry Festival in Córdoba, Spain, and was one of the editorial board members of Contemporary International Poetry.
