Between the three provinces of Gansu, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia, around the ring road along the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, over the Helan Mountains, through the desert Gobi, to Ejina. The starting point of this journey is the city on the bend of the Yellow River, Yinchuan. After passing through the Alxa Left Banner, it will drive along the 397 National Highway in the Gobi, and the sand dunes will occasionally flood some sections, and there are fewer supply points along the way, so it is necessary to resupply in advance and check the condition of the car. Driving in this desert is not full of yellow sand, and almost everyone on both sides of the road is a shuttle tree planted on the Internet.
Through the sand dunes, the Gobi Desert in front of the sudden protrusion, the strange rocky Mandela Mountain, ancient volcanic eruptions deposited a large number of volcanic rocks, the desert ancestors thousands of years ago, with the pictures on the rocks, recorded life. The petroglyphs are carved on black basalt with very clear lines, and the earliest petroglyphs span more than 6,000 years.
After passing through Mount Mandela, continue on, and on the right side of the road, a column of strangely constructed mountains rises from the ground, which is Mount Yaburai. After a while of trekking, you will arrive at an important supply point along the way, Alxa Right Banner, where you can rest and recharge, and you can also see the lake in the desert.
After passing the Alxa Right Banner Airport, the road appeared at a fork in the road, we headed to the right, and the next stop was Haisen Chulu. Hesen Chulu is a Mongolian transliteration meaning a stone like a pot. Within a radius of tens of kilometers, the strange stone forest formed by hundreds of millions of years of wind and sand erosion can be seen everywhere and with different forms, which can really be described as "sea dry stone rot".
Along the road, we arrive at the Heihe River, which is the aerospace town of Jiuquan in Gansu. At this time, we will also turn the direction and travel north along the 213 National Highway on the Black River, this section is also called The Aerospace Road, the road will pass through the Dongfeng Space City, where you can feel the strong space atmosphere.
Continue along the Black River to Ejin. Ejina currently has 380,000 mu of poplar forest, which is one of the only three remaining poplar forest areas in the world. Poplar forests start to turn yellow in October every year, the yellowest in mid-to-late October, and after October, the leaves are almost gone. There are only more than 20 days of splendor every year, and the Erdao Bridge in the scenic area has water to shoot sunrises and sunsets and reflections; the Sidao Bridge is the filming location of "Heroes", where the poplar forest is tall and dense, which is a good place to shoot portraits; the Badao Bridge is located on the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, where you can photograph the winding sand dunes and desert camels.
Continue north to the end of the Heihe River, juyan sea. A vast lake surrounded by desert, at first glance it will make people feel like a mirage. Continue north, you can reach the Ceke port, close to Mongolia, you can take some Mongolian native products.
Return to Ejina and follow the Jingxin Expressway to Bayannaoer City, then head south to Yinchuan. This section of the highway is the longest desert Gobi highway in the world, passing through a variety of different landscapes and landscapes.
