High-class pigeon eye feature "Dot Eye Cluster"

Pigeon eyes of the premium "dot eye bush" carrier pigeon

People have found many strange phenomena in the study of a large number of pigeon eyes, shining dots and clumps appear in the pupils of a small number of pigeon eyes, through the individual group of such phenomena, it is found that its commonality has a certain law to interpret, is it useful for beginners? The answer is below.

Let's first introduce the structure of the eye:

1. The eyeball wall is mainly divided into three layers: outer, middle and inner. The outer layer is composed of the cornea and the sclera.

2. Intraocular cavity and contents. The intraocular cavity includes the anterior, posterior, and vitreous chambers. Ocular contents include aqueous humor, crystals, and vitreous bodies. All three are transparent and together with the cornea are called refractive media.

3. Optic nerve, optic path. The optic nerve is part of the central nervous system. The visual information obtained by the retina is transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve. The optic path refers to the path from the retina receiving visual information to the entire neural impulse transmission of vision in the visual cortex of the brain.

4. Eye appendages. Appendages include the eyelids, conjunctiva, lacrimal organs, extraocular muscles, and orbits. Among them, the optic nerve papilla is the intraocular part of the optic nerve, which is on the one hand a continuation of the retinal ganglion cell axon, and on the other hand, it becomes the posterior or intraorbital part of the optic nerve through the scleral sieve plate. The optic nerve is part of the central nervous system. It starts from the papilla and ends before the optic crissus, and is about 6 to 10 mm long. The optic nerve nipple is what we call the "dot eye plexus" in pigeon breeders.

The "point eye cluster" is a cluster of crystal-like particles that appear in the pupil of the pigeon's eye inside the pupil. Any pigeon will have it, it's a physiological phenomenon, the scientific name is optic nerve nipple. Some can be seen with the naked eye, and some can only be seen with a fundus mirror. When the particles are large, they can be observed with the naked eye, and some can be seen clearly by borrowing a magnifying glass. According to domestic and foreign pigeon breeding information: the carrier pigeon with "dot eye cluster" is a treasure of excellent breeding pigeons, which can be compared with violet eyes and green eyes. There are examples of bred offspring who have won places in competitions at any level. Therefore, the first pigeons should not be eliminated as pigeons with "dot eye clusters" as pigeons with "cataract" eye disease.

There are two kinds of dot eye clusters in the eyes of carrier pigeons: one is a dot eye and the other is a cluster eye. Among them, there will also be differences between sand eyes and yellow eyes, so that the color of the dot eye clusters is not the same, and there are single and double eyes.

First of all, as a point eye, it means that there is only one grain or only one point in the pupil, the color of the yellow eye is golden yellow, and the color of the sand eye is silver white. The second is the commonly referred to as the cluster eye, which is different from the dot eye, and its form is the most abundant, forming a cluster or clusters, as if it is composed of many dot eyes, occupying a considerable part of the pupil. Some are like flowers, some are like strange stones, some are like sparkles of thread, and so on. The yellow eye is golden yellow in color, and the sand eye is silvery white in color. However, some of them get older with age or flight time, and some can "retire" during periods of low competitive status. The "dot-eye cluster" is inherited from generation to generation, and the obvious "point-eye cluster" is a higher probability of inheritance in the next generation, and strangely, the odds are higher in the grandchildren with kinship mating.

How about the release of the "dot eye bush" pigeons? Sometimes it's better than a regular pigeon, and sometimes it's not even as good as not having a "dot bush". However, they are indeed better at breeding than without "dot eye clusters", and the success rate is much greater than that of ordinary pigeons. To put it simply: if you have a pigeon with a "dot eye", the conclusion is that the release is not necessarily good, and breeding is definitely better than other pigeons. If it is another pigeon from the famous "Dot Eye Cluster" pigeon, it is a real gold rarity. The "dot eye cluster" not only reflects the external objects quickly, but also flashes and trembles in the sun as beautiful and moving as the blink of a star.

For example, the retina around the papilla of the optic nerve of the human eye has edema, flame-like bleeding, and yellowish-white oozing spots. Sometimes it can spread to the macula, causing the macula to fold with radial edema along the fibrous, and after a long time, a star (now called optic nerve retinitis). There is often dusty opacity in the posterior vitreous body, especially in front of the optic nerve nipple. It is easy to lead to blindness in both eyes, dilated pupils, and negative reflections on light.

Another example: the key points of diagnosis of optic nerve atrophy

1. Gradually decrease in vision, or even see nothing. If there is still vision, when the vision can check the field of vision, it is generally manifested as a centripetal reduction.

2. In patients with fundus changes of primary (simple), the papillae are pale, the boundaries are clear, the sieve plate is obviously visible, and the omental blood vessels are normal;

Secondary, papillary palettes or sallow, blurred boundaries, occlusion of organic compounds on the papillary surface, or papillary vessels are biased to the nasal side, omental vessels are thinned, or the omentum has old lesions or pigmentation.

3. The causes of this disease are complex. Clinically, a variety of fundus diseases and diseases of the tissues around the eyes can cause the disease.

Mr. Wu Gaoping, a famous pigeon racing and breeder, has made a distinct exposition of the "dot eye cluster" - "the small bright spots that appear in the pupil, the white-eyed pigeons are white, the red-yellow-eyed pigeons are golden, and there are dozens of clumps when there are more points, which are either excellent or inferior pigeons, and the stars (North Star) can be seen in the sky during the day, indicating that its visual cells are very developed, also known as needle-shaped eyes." ”

So is the pigeon with the "dot eye" good or bad? My photographs and practice of famous pigeons confirm that pigeons with "point eye clusters" have a higher winning rate than pigeons without "point eye clusters", and that the double eye clusters are better than the one-eye clusters.

Pigeon breeding should be scientific and reasonable to introduce and study, the law is in the minds of diligent people, let us continue to work hard, let the Chinese carrier pigeon soar in the world.
