South African media reported on January 24 that the flooding caused by tropical cyclone "Eloise" killed at least three people in the African country of Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe's Civil Protection Department reported that three people had been washed away in flooding in the south-eastern Zimbabwean town of Chipinga, which had been severely hit by Cyclone Idai two years earlier.

Reports of damage to houses and schools in two towns, Chimanimani and Chipinga, in Zimbabwe's Manikalan governorate. Communities near the Save River in Zimbabwe are moving to the highlands.
In addition, Zimbabwe's two main dams, the Manucci Dam and the Tokwe Mukosi Dam, have also begun to overflow, and communities downstream of it are on high alert. (Reporter Zhou Lin)
