Recently, two online video exchange activities with the theme of "Traditional Culture Recommendation Meeting" to cross time difference, cross the Pacific Ocean, convey greetings and enhance friendship were staged in Shijiazhuang Wai Chinese Education Group and Costa Rica Western Middle School!
At 8:00 a.m. Beijing time on October 13 and 18:00 Costa Rica time on October 12, junior high school Spanish students and students from Costa Rica Western Middle School held the first online video friendly exchange activity of this semester.

The event was moderated by ninth grade Spanish students Li Yinuo, Zhu Jiashuo and Chinese teachers from the Costa Rica Western School.
Grade 9 Day Wing, Li Zhuoyuan and Western Middle School students showed the history of their respective schools and their special curriculum.
In the "Traditional Culture Recommendation" session, the music teacher of Western Middle School taught everyone to dance the famous Latin dance, and the drama teacher performed the classic Drama Clips of Costa Rica. Everyone couldn't help but dance and sing with the Costa Rican teacher.
, duration 00:08
The drama class in Costa Rica also deeply infected everyone. Eighth grade Spanish students Zhou Zihuan, Chang Ruijie and Nie Jing'en demonstrated the traditional Chinese art of paper-cutting to each other's alumni, and the small and exquisite handmade works were amazing.
In the ninth grade, Li Nuoxuan and Wu Xinyi introduced Chinese cuisine such as Peking duck, fritters, and other Chinese foods to the students of Western Middle School. In the free communication section, students from both sides had a lively exchange on topics such as school life and sports activities that interested each other.
At 21:00 China time on October 22 and 7:00 Costa Rica time on October 22, Spanish students from Shiwai High School conducted the second online video exchange activity with high school students from Costa Rica West Middle School.
Eleventh grade Jiang Yuxin and Zhang Jiarui hosted the event.
"Although this video exchange is an early winter night, the thick cotton clothes can't stop our enthusiasm, seeing Costa Rica on the other end of the screen, the sun is just opening, I really feel how much barrier we have overcome to achieve this special exchange." Li Laihan, a tenth grade Spanish student, said before the meeting began.
The theme of the tenth grade of this activity was "traditional music", they first introduced the traditional Chinese instruments Erhu and Guzheng, and then Sun Jiayin and Zhang Zhuoyang performed guzheng and erhu famous songs respectively.
In the eleventh grade, Li Jiazhe, Zhou Pinshan, Ji Ruiyang and Yang Jiaheng introduced the traditional Festival of the Dragon Boat Festival in China to the students of the western school.
Students at Western Middle School showed their classmates the traditional dances of Costa Rica. They also used the Chinese they learned to try to use Chinese to talk to Shiwai's classmates.
After each section of the presentation, there will be a warm applause in each classroom and conference room. Although across the screen, everyone can't help but wave, swing, and compare their hearts to the rhythm of the song, enjoying the joy brought to us by communication.
The students deeply realized that there were so many people who were so interested in Chinese culture so far away from everyone, and from them, the students not only experienced the huge differences between different cultures in different countries, but also marveled at how vivid and accessible the world was at this moment.
Although the epidemic is still raging around the world and cannot communicate face-to-face in each other's countries, such online exchanges have also benefited the students a lot. The screen is not separated by love, even if separated by a Pacific Ocean, los costarriqueños y los chinos somos amigos (eternal friends of the Middle Colombian people)!
Grade 10 Spanish student Sun Jiayin
A language, a fate....
The sound of the piano sounded, a story of the guzheng sounded, a trace of the elegance of classical instruments sounded, and a touch of Chinese faith sounded. We met because of Spanish, and today we use culture as a bridge to tell the love of the nation.
When I first received this task, I was a little afraid of difficulties in my heart, but I also really wanted to contribute. When I chose traditional Chinese musical instruments as the theme of exchange, I immediately thought of the guzheng that I had been practicing for ten years, and I thought of being able to introduce my beloved instruments to some foreign friends who had "never met" but were already "old acquaintances", and a feeling of joy came from the bottom of my heart. When preparing the materials, I not only understood the origin of the guzheng again and again, but also played with the guzheng that had long been shelved again and again. For me, this event is not only a foreign exchange activity, but also a good opportunity to deepen my cultural heritage.
The presentation of Western Middle School allowed me to see the spring scenery of South America, the most lively, enthusiastic and cheerful students. That period of dance full of national style is still fresh in people's minds. The long skirt of the Costa Rican flag is made of color blocks, and the graceful dance steps are so harmonious with the sun, white clouds and meadows behind it, this is not a dance, but a beautiful picture.
You and I are related, starting in Spanish, now let me send my sincerest wishes in Spanish: i Que tengan una vida feliz (I wish you a happy life)!

Bright lights illuminate the academic halls, lacquered lenses focus on the talents of young people, colorful banners show the international education platform, and the hope of the nation flashes in the eyes of colleagues with yellow skin and black hair.
It was a networking event and a showcase of style.
The Spanish students outside the stone appear collectively, and those who are good at playing the piano are constantly vocal, and those who are good at arguing are endless. In ancient times, there were Zhuge Kong ming tongues and groups of Confucians, and recently Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao propagated Marxist ideas among the workers and peasants; our bloodline came from Chinese history, and our ideas carried tradition and integrated innovations, so the young students of our generation did not lose the style of those who did great things before they stood up to the people.
This is a networking event and a cultural mutual learning.
We showed the excellent national culture to costa rican teachers and students, and also gained a deeper understanding of Costa Rica's customs and people's living conditions from each other's displays. We can learn a lot of knowledge from foreign cultures, get ideological enlightenment and expand our horizons. More importantly, we have clarified the basic attitude towards foreign cultures, that is, to be harmonious and different, eclectic, world-oriented, and eclectic.
This is an exchange activity, but also an international exchange.
In today's world, countries are increasingly closely linked, especially in the special period of epidemic prevention and control, international mutual assistance is particularly important. Exchange activities are a good way to promote the internationalization of both sides. Through the exchanges, we finally reached a consensus that the two peoples have been friendly for generations, jointly fight the epidemic, and make efforts to promote globalization and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
This activity was strongly supported by Alex, the Spanish foreign teacher of Shiwai Group, from the early contact, the intermediate preparation to the final exchange activity, Alex teacher communicated and coordinated many times. He said:The main goal of this activity is to inspire and motivate the students to continue studying the language, in this case Spanish. Because language will open their vision to different cultures and people. And also participating in an activity like this could also help the students find out something about themselves which they may not clear about themselves, like new skills or strengths and they could now work to improve it. So in the future when opportunities available, they will get it not only here in China but anywhere in the world! Because language is a tool that opens students' horizons and allows them to understand the people and cultures of different countries. Participating in such activities can help students find their own potential abilities, value their hidden skills, and seize opportunities when they come. )
Civilizations are enriched by exchanges, and civilizations are enriched by mutual learning. This online video exchange activity opened a new model of cooperation and exchange between Shiwai and sister schools around the world, laying the foundation for deeper interaction in the future. Shiwai will continue to strengthen international cooperation, take advantage of exchange opportunities with friendly schools, spread the voice of China, and show the modernization, internationalization and beauty of Shijiazhuang!
