"Taihang Wind and Bone" - Memoirs of Yang Yunxi 35

author:Mulan

The armed forces fight life

At the end of 1943, we were told to turn to infantry, which may be the ghost of Yang Yunqing. Because, by squeezing out a few of us who know artillery, academically he can cover the sky with one hand and do whatever he wants.

Once, he was wrong about the theory in shooting (he may not understand), and at that time I saved face for him, and after class I told him how to calculate, and he had to admit it in front of the theory. Later, he had to correct it in front of the warrior, but he felt very uncomfortable in his heart. In this way, he felt that we had affected his prestige, and thus produced the result that we were later transferred.

Our opinion, if not needed, wanted us to return to Yan'an, but Director Zhu Gang did not adopt it, and the three of us insisted on this opinion. Later, Zhu Gang adopted various methods of breaking and dividing, and asked me to talk separately with them. First call Wang Linren and Xu Rongde to the next line, and then don't call them to eat. I saw Wang Linren pour out the rice in his dry food bag and ask his fellow villagers to borrow a pot to cook, which was really unkind. The cauldron of rice is not called to eat, what a punishment! A few of us, like a child without a wife, had nothing to rely on. Zhu Gang and I were originally at odds with each other before, and they were good to me in the future, but he did too clever in this matter. When he went to Nanjing to study in 1953, he also apologized.

Later, he sent me to the armed workers' team first. After that, he arranged for Wang and Xu to work in the Second Regiment. Wang Linren became a deputy instructor, Xu Rongde began to be a platoon leader, and soon became a deputy company commander. Revolutionary work can be done, but technical personnel should not be treated in this way. At that time, there was a shortage of artillery personnel, and even more a shortage of observers. However, in hindsight, I still wanted to break through the first line. In particular, the armed workers' brigade is behind enemy lines and shoulders the important work of cracking down on puppet regime organizations, organizing propaganda among the masses, building confidence in the War of Resistance, and winning the hearts and minds of the people. Its mission is to "encroach" on sweeps and consolidate the development base areas; to drag behind the enemy's rear; to organize the masses, to propagate the masses, to wage a comprehensive struggle against the enemy in the political, military, economic, and cultural fields, and to thwart the enemy's "Suihua Public Security Campaign."

The armed engineering team is composed of relatively good company, platoon, and battalion cadres, and is a short and capable armed task force. Fan Jie served as the captain first, Gou Xuankai was the political commissar, the first squad leader Zhao Guodong, the second squad leader surnamed Li, and the deputy squad leader Chen Jin'an. I was in the second squad, a member of the armed forces team organization, and a light machine gun ammunition man. Zhang Chunyao, an old Red Army soldier, was a company commander and was my machine gun shooter. The unit also had 60 guns, three squads had a Danish light machine gun, and the machine gun shooter was Hao Lianfu.
