Answer: The compilation and publication of "A Brief History of the People's Republic of China" is a major project of the social science fund to cooperate with the whole party and society in studying the history of new China. At the end of 2019, according to the requirements of the Central Propaganda Department, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences set up a writing group for a brief history of the People's Republic of China. Under the guidance of the Central Propaganda Department, the writing team changed its drafts several times on the basis of extensively soliciting the opinions of relevant units and experts and scholars, and finally published this 319,000-word "Brief History of the People's Republic of China".
