Fanzhi County, located in the northeast of Shanxi Province, belongs to Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. It is bordered by Beiyue Hengshan, one of the "Five Mountains", Ying County and Hunyuan County, Wutai Mountain, one of the "Four Famous Buddhist Mountains" in the south, Lingqiu County and Fuping County in Hebei Province, and Dai County in the west. Fanzhi County has a total area of 2,369 square kilometers, administers 13 townships, and has a population of 266,800 (as of the end of 2010). It is a temperate continental climate, with an average annual temperature of 6.3 °C, an annual precipitation of about 400 mm, and a frost-free period of 130 days.
Fanzhi County was founded in the Spring and Autumn Period and has a long history, fanzhi was named from the eighteenth year (598) of the Sui Dynasty.
On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. On April 18, 2019, the People's Government of Shanxi Province approved Fanzhi County to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county.

Chinese Buddhist and tourist destinations. Located between Wutai County and Fanzhi County in Xinzhou City, the "Four Famous Mountains of Chinese Buddhism" and the "Five Sacred Sites of Buddhism in the World" were selected in the "2008 Chinese Cultural Brand Report" Historical Yearbook book Wutai Mountain Scenic Area Map in 2008. In December 2008, Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province was awarded the first place in "China's Top Ten Most Beautiful Religious Mountains". In the series of appraisals of "30 Most Concerned in the 30th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up" held by the People's Network, Wutai Mountain Scenic Area was once again listed, becoming one of the 30 most concerned scenic spots in the 30 years of reform and opening up.
Flat off
Pingxingguan is located on the bottle-shaped ridge of Pingxingguan Village in Hengjian Township and belongs to the national security unit. Originally built in the Ming Dynasty, the Ming and Qing dynasties have undergone different degrees of maintenance. Pingxingguan is surrounded by tall peaks, narrow passes, and dangerous terrain, which is a place where ancient and modern soldiers must fight, and is one of the nine famous passes in China. In September 1937, the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army led by the Communist Party of China launched a fierce battle with the Japanese invaders here, annihilating more than a thousand enemy troops and winning the first major victory since the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The flat-shaped gate is square in shape, and the north gate is still well preserved.
Iwayama-ji Temple
Yanshan Temple, formerly known as Lingyan Temple, is located in Tianyan Village, the northern foothills of Wutai Mountain, Nanyukou, Fanzhi County. Founded in the third year of Kim Jong-yong (1158), it was repeatedly repaired by the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Iwaki-ji Temple sits north-facing south and has an irregular rectangular plan. The main hall of the temple has been destroyed, and the existing buildings mainly include three south halls, three east and west side halls, four other halls, three Zen rooms, one weeping flower gate, and one bell tower that doubles as a mountain gate. Except for the South Hall, the rest are all buildings from the late Qing Dynasty to the folk period. The murals with Yongle Palace can be called the "double walls" of Shanxi murals.
Princess Temple
Located in Gongzhu Village, Xingyuan Township, Fanzhi County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, Gongzhu Temple is a key cultural relics protection unit at the department level, which was built in Northern Wei for Princess Chengxin of Northern Wei to escape the suffering of red dust and practice. The existing hall is a Ming Dynasty building. The temple is complete in architecture, the scale is grand, the murals in the temple are exquisitely skilled, lifelike, have high artistic value, and the murals of Yongle Palace are called "North and South Double Pearls". On August 18, 1986, it was announced by the People's Government of Shanxi Province as a provincial key protection unit, and on May 25, 2006, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Shahe Town belongs to Fanzhi County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, east to Lingqiu, west to Fanzhi, north of Ying County, south of Wutai Mountain, Jingyuan Railway, 108 National Highway, Linghe Expressway across the east and west, Shaying, Provincial Highway Dashi Line connects the north and south, south of Wutai Mountain Scenic Spots, north of Hengshan Hanging Temple, YingXian Wooden Pagoda Tourist Resort, east of the Ping-type Guanhong Tourism Line, is an important transportation hub and tourism transit place in northeast Jin. "Hengfo Holy Land in South Taipei, West and Tuotuoyuan in Tokyo" is a refined summary of the geographical location of Shahe.
With a permanent population of 47,911 (2017), it administers 43 administrative villages with an area of 226.8 square kilometers, and is an important commercial and trade distribution center in North China. In the 1980s, it was once included as one of the top ten well-known small towns in the country, and has now developed into the largest aborted source of gold and silver products in North China.
