Yi Junzuo is a native of Hanshou, Hunan, born into a family of scholars, and has been famous for poetry for three generations. Yi Junzuo was highly qualified as a teenager, graduated from the Department of Political Science of Peking University, and studied in Japan. In 1926, after the Northern Expedition, he resolutely served as the director of the Political Department of the 40th Army of the National Revolutionary Army and a member of the Standing Committee of the Special Party Department. He taught at China Public School, Hunan University, Anhui University and other schools, and later served as the secretary and director of the Anhui Civil Affairs Department. However, Yi Junzuo is still a literati in his bones, and his writings, poems, books, and paintings are all exquisitely crafted, and he is said to be "absolutely famous in the world". He is especially good at traveling, and is known as "the first person in Modern Chinese Travelogue" in Taiwan.
"Gossip Yangzhou" is a collection of yi Junzuo's travelogue essays, thinking that it is idle talk, but he does not know that he is careless and careless, and he is famous for a text case. Naturally, the "YiYi Group" formed by all walks of life in Yangzhou won the lawsuit, the Zhonghua Book Company withdrew the book from the market, destroyed it together with the paper version, and never issued it, Yi Junzuo was forced to resign from the post of editorial director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, published a public apology to the Yangzhou people, admitted that he "did not see well, observed and neglected, and caused many inaccuracies in the criticism of Yangzhou society", compensated 800 yuan for reputation losses, and handed over to Yangzhou to run public welfare undertakings.
Although "Gossip Yangzhou" was banned, all kinds of printed copies are still circulating in the folk, and I have read his "Life of Yangzhou People" and related comments on this text case. Yi Junzuo's good friend, a well-known journalist and writer in the Republic of China, Cao Juren, once published an essay "Gossip Yangzhou" (published in the tenth issue of "Human World"), criticizing Yi Junzuo as "very shallow and boring." First, Yi Shifu (Yi Junzuo's father) protested. The article proposed: "All walks of life in Yangzhou, instead of jointly controlling "Gossip Yangzhou", it is better to rewrite "Qingming Upper River Map" more elegantly. Mr. Zhu Ziqing responded in "Speaking of Yangzhou": "Seeing Mr. Cao Juren's "Gossip Yangzhou" in the tenth issue is much more interesting than that famous book. However, that book said Yangzhou too badly, and Mr. Cao could not help but say too well. ”
Yi Junzuo and Cao Juren both died in 1972, and Mr. Zhu Ziqing died in 1948, if they had lived to this day and seen yangzhou's vibrant cityscape, they would probably have different feelings.
