Located between Jianghuai and Jianghuai, Jiangsu Xinghua not only has the wonders of thousands of stacks of cauliflower fields, but also leaves behind the cultural relics of cultural celebrities such as Shi Nai'an, author of "Water Margin", Zheng Banqiao, calligrapher and painter of the Qing Dynasty, and Liu Xizai, a scholar, and is also known as "the hometown of Banqiao and the hometown of Water Margin". Since March 27, Zhou Zhigao and Pan Gaopeng, two elderly Xinghua calligraphers and painters, have joined hands to hold the "Zhou Zhigao Pan Gaopeng Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition" at the Xinghua Museum, presenting the natural and humanistic history of Xinghua in the form of calligraphy and painting.
Water town Xinghua thousand stacks of rape flowers
Born in 1945, Zhou Zhigao of Xinghua was a famous calligrapher of the older generation in the Chinese book world, who served as vice chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature and chairman of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association. He is currently the Honorary Chairman of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association and the President of the Shanghai China Book Court. In 1977, he founded the Shanghai "Calligraphy" magazine and served as the executive editor, and successively planned and participated in hosting the five national firsts (the first national mass calligraphy competition, the first national exhibition of calligraphy and seal engraving, the first national theoretical seminar on calligraphy, the first national seal engraving competition, the first national young and middle-aged "Shuyuan Shuying" competition) major activities, known as "one of the founders of the revival of contemporary Chinese calligraphy", which has a special status in the field of Chinese calligraphy. Although Mr. Zhou Zhigao works and lives in Shanghai and Beijing, he always has a hometown complex, often takes the historical and humanistic content of Xinghua as the theme of creation, and expresses his strong nostalgia in his works with a "Banqiao Tongli" stamp. In addition to displaying Zhou Zhigao's huge paintings of "Banqiao Hometown" and "Hometown of Water Margin" written in cursive style, there are also some texts of Liu Xizai, an art theorist and scholar of a generation in the Qing Dynasty. The style of writing is either vigorous and unrestrained, or it opens up new aspects in ancient methods, and integrates pride into the pen.

A total of 50 works by two famous calligraphers and painters were exhibited in this exhibition.
Mr. Pan Gaopeng, who is also a Xinghua person, was born in 1942 in Danan Town, Xinghua, and then worked as an art editor and journalist in Xinhua Daily for more than 30 years, and is committed to the research and creation of Chinese painting art. In particular, his paintings depicting the water towns of his hometown, Xinghua, are quite personal. His water village rape flowers depict the landscape of Xinghua's thousand stacks of rape flowers: the colorful stacks of fields form thousands of small islands in the lake, and the islands are full of golden rape flowers, forming a large golden yellow "sea of flowers" on the water, which is breathtaking. Tourists sitting on a small wooden boat from a local farmhouse will appreciate the unique feeling of "the boat walks in the water, and people walk in the flowers".

"This time back to my hometown, I paid a special visit to the Shi Nai'an Cemetery, and as Xinghua people, we have always been proud of our hometown culture." Moreover, Pan Gaopeng and I are both veteran party members with decades of party experience, and this year is the centennial of the party, so it is particularly meaningful to return to our hometown to hold a joint exhibition. Zhou Zhigao, honorary chairman of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association and president of the Shanghai China Book Court, said that the joint exhibition has received strong support from all aspects of his hometown, and his heart is very moved. As a Xinghua person who has been out all year round, I am happy to see every change and every bit of progress in my hometown. In particular, in recent years, The construction of Xinghua culture has achieved very good results, and a cultural and artistic center will be built, which is exciting. I hope that my hometown can continue to build cultural brands such as the Zhengbanqiao Art Festival and the Shi Nai'an Literature Festival, focus on cultivating a good young generation, and pass on the excellent traditional culture to the whole country and even the world.

At the opening ceremony, Xinghua City leaders Fang Jie, Liu Chunlong, Xia Aijun and others said that Xinghua has a profound cultural heritage, and the two artists have always been concerned about their homeland and hometown, and have made many important contributions to the inheritance, prosperity and development of cultural and artistic undertakings in their hometown. The two artists held a joint exhibition in their hometown, which is not only an art exhibition, but also a cultural feast.
Pan Shanzhu, vice chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and vice chairman and secretary general of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, said in his speech that he has always admired the humanistic history of Xinghua, and the two famous artists of Xinghua reflect the humanistic customs of their hometown with pen and ink, which makes people moved. Professor Gao Zhiqun of Fudan University read a congratulatory letter on behalf of the leaders of Fudan University.
Liu Dingrong, former executive deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Xinghua Municipal Party Committee and chairman of the Federation of Literature and Literature, and Shen Fu, director of the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism of Xinghua City, accompanied the visit to the Xinghua Historical and Cultural Block and the natural landscape of Thousand Stacks of Cauliflowers; the exhibition activities were also co-organized by Yang Jian, president of the Nanjing Xinghua Chamber of Commerce.

It is reported that Zhou Zhigao and Pan Gaopeng are concerned about their hometowns, focusing on passing on the torch, and donated 1 million yuan of the dainan town calligraphy and painting art museum's work reward fund in 2011 to establish the dainan town youth calligraphy and painting education award fund, and carry out a calligraphy and painting competition every 2 to 3 years to reward outstanding talents in young people's calligraphy and painting. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party this year, the Dainan Town Youth Calligraphy and Painting Competition will be held to inherit the essence of Chinese national culture. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the exhibition was hosted by the Xinghua Municipal People's Government, the Propaganda Department of the Xinghua Municipal Party Committee, and the Xinghua Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism.
