Wu Ruilin's untold story

In 1932, at the age of 17, Wu Ruilin joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and joined the Communist Party of China in the same year. The following year, when Wu Ruilin had just assumed the post of chairman of the "Red Capital" Tongjiang County Soviet Government, in a sudden and great anti-purge, he was considered to be a "Tochen abolitionist faction," and the charges were thus imposed on Wu Ruilin. The situation is very urgent, the young Wu Ruilin can only wait to be cut off?
At the critical moment, Fu Zhong, director of the Political Department of the Red Fourth Front, said a word to let Wu Ruilin step out of the prison and unload the charges that did not belong to him, and after that, he never went in again.
A native of Xuyong County, Sichuan Province, Fu Zhong joined the Communist Party of China in 1921 and was particularly instrumental in this incident. Fu Zhong, who had gone to negotiate secretly with the representatives sent by Yang Sen, was not familiar with the local area, and in order to be just in case, he needed to assist comrades who were more familiar with the local situation.
Unexpectedly, the locals recommended fu Zhong to Wu Ruilin, who had been imprisoned. After understanding the situation, Fu Zhong said: If you want to cut off your head, you must first help me finish my work and then cut it, let him out first. Wu Ruilin, who had left the prison, immediately went to the place where Fu Zhong was.
"Lame General" Wu Ruilin
In June 1935, Wu Ruilin, who led the headquarters of the Red Fourth Front and the working group of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, greeted the Central Red Army, which had just crossed the Snowy Mountains and headed north. Speaking of the war, when Wu Ruilin was studying at the Central Party School, he was the first to register with the leaders to go to the anti-Japanese front. His actions were praised by the central leadership, and he immediately rushed to the battlefield.
In the battle against the Japanese "Seven-Way Siege", he was wounded twice in a row, shot in many places, and his leg was also crippled by the Japanese due to this war. Even if Wu Ruilin had experienced hundreds of battles, he could not withstand the fierceness of the enemy, and even if he escaped from the rescue, he still did not save that leg.
In the War of Liberation, Wu Ruilin commanded the 42nd Army (the former 5th Column of Dongye), the most senior unit in the hands of the military scientist Lin Biao, and since Wu Ruilin's arrival, this team has achieved good results in a battle, destroying Liao Yaoxiang's troops, who are fully equipped with American equipment.

The 42nd Army was "transformed"
In March 1950, the officers and men of the whole army looked like peasants, and they were embarrassed to write letters to their homes. The 42nd Army led by Wu Ruilin received orders from its superiors to transfer to production, two divisions went to The Dabie Mountains in Henan, Anhui, and Hubei to open up the wilderness, and one division stayed in the northeast to repair water conservancy projects, saying that it was to fight as a soldier, but wanwan did not expect to do the work of peasants.
Wu Ruilin said unhurriedly that if the troops were allowed to engage in agriculture in this way, it would definitely cause contradictions with the people, and it would be better to go to a sparsely populated place to develop wasteland, where the land was empty. At that time, the state fought wars, let alone peasants, and the soldiers could not eat enough. Mao Zedong continued to ask Wu Ruilin in detail how he had surveyed the terrain by venturing deep into Korea with only two staff officers. Wu Ruilin said unhurriedly that although this road is full of dangers, it has gained a lot.
After surveying the terrain of North Korea, he learned that during the battle, the infantry had to cross the train track many times, knowing that there were the most obstacles in the train track, and the forward speed was very slow, but how to pass if it was fast and safe?
Wu Ruilin thought that it was necessary to build wooden planks on the sleepers of the train track, so that the planks and rails were flattened, so that they could not affect the operation of the rails but also enable the infantry to pass quickly, even if it was two or three thousand people, they could walk more than ten miles an hour.
When he saw that there was a river passing through the road, Wu Ruilin tried it out in the middle of the river, thinking that he could lay an underwater bridge under the water and build a simple road on both sides of the strait, so that not only could it prevent the whereabouts of the US military planes, but also in an emergency, infantry and transport carriages could also pass quickly.
