China's "Air Silk Road" helps the "Belt and Road" countries share China's achievements

Qingdao, October 20 (Xinhua) -- Since its introduction in 2017, China's "Air Silk Road" plan has effectively served the high-level opening up of the "Belt and Road" and continuously helped countries along the "Belt and Road" to share China's development achievements.

This is the information that the reporter learned from the second "Air Silk Road" International Aviation Cooperation Summit on the 20th.

Luo Ronghuai, general manager of Aviation Industry Group, said that the "Air Silk Road" plan is an important starting point for the aviation industry to promote the construction of a new development pattern, and has always shared China's development achievements with countries along the route and served the development needs of countries along the route.

According to Luo Ronghuai, Civil Aviation of China has signed air transport agreements with 103 countries along the "Belt and Road", and the number of flights with countries along the "Belt and Road" accounts for 65.9% of China's total flights, especially in the context of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, which has set up a life channel for the global fight against the epidemic; Chinese civil aircraft represented by the Xinzhou series and the Yun 12 series have delivered more than 320 aircraft to global users, with a total operating time of nearly 900,000 hours and more than 70 civil aviation routes.

In addition, Kuwait Airport, Zambia Engdora Airport, Cambodia's new Phnom Penh International Airport and other projects are also actively promoted; the China-Kazakhstan energy pipeline patrol project has completed more than 4,000 kilometers of inspection operations, and the China-Belarusian industrial-grade UAV project has seized market opportunities and actively prepared to start batch production.

As of June this year, the aviation industry has involved 220 projects along the "Belt and Road" with a total amount of 26 billion US dollars, including aviation product trade, subcontracting production, international cooperation and overseas projects, of which as many as 31 are airport construction projects.

In order to better serve the development needs of countries along the "Belt and Road", multi-departmental Qingdao initiatives on the green and sustainable "Aerial Silk Road" were also jointly released at the summit site.
