Goal goal net: If Edson and Steffen are both sidelined against Leicester City, City will need to use three Carsons

Live Bar September 8, 2019 Goal.com's Manchester City accompanying reporter Jonathan Smith reported that since Ederson was banned from playing for 5 days by the Brazilian Football Association, Manchester City's No. 2 goalkeeper Steffen recently tested positive for the new crown, and Manchester City may have to use three carsons in this weekend's league.

City officially signed Carson this summer, the 36-year-old former England international, who previously played on loan and has only made one appearance for Manchester City in two seasons (last season's Premier League game against Newcastle).

Manchester City no. 2 goalkeeper Steffen, who recently tested positive for the U.S. national team for covid-19, missed this weekend's league and is expected to miss next week's Champions League group stage against Leipzig.

Manchester City have three goalkeepers on loan this summer – Ireland's young international Barzunu for Portsmouth, Kosovo international Muric for Adana and England's U20 international Trafford for Accrington. That means if Carson starts against Leicester City, City may have to put 18-year-old Cieran Slicker and 17-year-old Van Sas on the bench.

Meanwhile, de Bruyne and Foden, who did not play on International Day due to injury, have both resumed training, but it remains to be seen whether they can play Leicester City.
