Chen Ming is a member of the China Artists Association, a member of the China Printmakers Association, and has served as the president of the Jiaonan Calligraphy and Painting Academy, the director of the Jiaonan Culture Center, and the chairman of the Jiaonan Artists Association.
In 1969, he began to create and publish works. More than 50 publishing houses and various newspapers and periodicals such as the People's Fine Arts Publishing House have published more than 1,000 works. "Hungry and Thirsty" was published on the cover of the first issue of "Fine Arts" in 1978, "Joy in the Waves" was selected for the 7th National Art Exhibition, "Playing waves" was selected for the 4th National Watercolor And Pastel Exhibition, and "Sea Fun" won the third prize of the 5th National Annual Painting Exhibition... In 1989, an exhibition was held at the National Art Museum of China, which attracted widespread attention. Since 1979, his works such as "Returning to Mother's Home" have been sent to France, Britain, Canada, Argentina and other countries by the China Foreign Art Exhibition and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Culture and other departments. Many works are collected by units and individuals at home and abroad.

Looking through Chen Ming's chronology of creation and the records of publications and awards, the bright spots in front of his eyes flashed, from the 1970s to the beginning of this century, in his creative career of more than thirty years, he worked hard in the comic strips, prints, propaganda paintings, New Year paintings, Chinese paintings, and oil paintings with folk themes, and created and published no less than a thousand works. Chen Ming was once my comrade-in-arms and student, and in the art creation team of the Navy's North Sea Fleet, he was only a fledgling amateur backbone. When I was playing with several other amateur backbones who had gathered to learn to create, I accidentally caused a waste of paper, which was criticized by my "strict calendar". However, he did get tempered in the selfless training creation and became an indispensable amateur backbone in the North Ship creative team. In the years that followed, especially in his struggles after he changed careers, he often contacted me and heard about his progress almost every year. Chen Ming is a pragmatic and willing to learn, he combines learning and creation very tightly, while learning and doing, never stopping. For Chen Ming, who has not studied in a professional college, the professional difficulties in front of him can be imagined. How to gradually master the various techniques of various paintings is a problem he will encounter all the time, however, because he has a strong desire to create for 800 million peasants, and at the same time grasps the key to diligent study and inquisitiveness and courage to explore, the difficulties have been broken through by him one by one, and the skills have been perfected day by day. Whether it is earthy or foreign, in his hands they are all Chinese, and they can be understood and welcomed by the vast number of peasants. Today, his gaze is gradually farther away, and he has begun to dabble in the modern and avant-garde fields of oil painting, and has begun to tentatively combine the strong decorative colors such as Chinese folk New Year paintings and paper-cutting with the impressionist and even Brutalist and Expressionist colors in oil paintings in order to produce more shocking colors, which cannot but be said to be a bold attempt and progress.
Chen Ming is an extremely diligent person, as a grassroots mass cultural cadre, on the one hand, he constantly creates his own works, and can create more than 20 New Year paintings in a year at most. On the one hand, he also actively carried out mass art counseling work, brought out a batch of young authors, and made Jiaonan an important position for the creation of New Year paintings, and the works he and these young authors made were full of strong local atmosphere, bright colors, novel and full composition, and handsome and healthy images, which were not only published by publishing houses across the country. Many works have been collected by national and provincial museums, and some works have been exhibited abroad to represent the Chinese government in international cultural exchanges, or have been selected as national gifts for important foreign guests. In 1990, Jiaonan won the honorary title of "Chinese Modern Folk Painting and Painting Township" named by the Ministry of Culture, Chen Ming was also awarded the title of "Excellent Counselor of China's Modern Folk Painting Township" by the Ministry of Culture, the Title of "Outstanding Communist Party Member of Qingdao City" by the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, and the Jiaonan Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government awarded him the honorary titles of "Excellent Professional and Technical Top-notch Talents", "Model Worker" and "Excellent Communist Party Member".
