In accordance with the overall deployment arrangements of the city's leading group for the protection of wild animals, the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps, together with the Municipal Public Security Bureau's Environmental Food and Drug Corps, jointly with the competent units of various districts throughout the city, has carried out high-frequency law enforcement inspections at the high incidence of wild animals.
On October 1, a joint law enforcement team composed of more than 30 people from the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps, the Municipal Public Security Bureau's Ring Food and Drug Corps, and the relevant departments of the Qianlidi Territorial Government in Hongqiao District carried out a joint surprise inspection of the Qianlidi Market and the surrounding roads. The Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps and the public security department investigated and dealt with 8 cases of illegal domestication and trade of wild birds on the spot, and seized 40 wild birds, including 18 red-threatened embroidered birdes under national second-level protection; and 22 key protected birds in Tianjin, such as coal and suzakus. At the same time, in accordance with the principle of attaching equal importance to law enforcement and popularization of law, law enforcement personnel took the initiative to publicize the laws, regulations and policies for wildlife protection to the crowd gathered at the scene, and distributed more than 400 copies of law popularization leaflets.
