In order to thoroughly implement the "Qingfeng Action" plan of eight ministries and commissions, including the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and severely crack down on illegal acts involving the "purchase, transportation, storage, and sale" of wild animals, the Municipal Planning and Resources Bureau's Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps and the Municipal Public Security Bureau's Ring Food and Drug Protection Corps recently jointly launched a special action to resolutely crack down on illegal trade in wild animals.
From January 26 to February 2, a total of 68 law enforcement personnel were dispatched to conduct surprise inspections of key targets at the high incidence of illegal trade in wild animals, such as ZigongDao in Nankai District and Qianlidi Market in Hongqiao District, investigating and handling 4 cases of illegal wild birds, arresting 5 suspects, and seizing 114 wild birds protected by the state's "three haves". Among them, there are 42 coal, 24 yellow finches, 30 red-winged embroidered birds, 8 goldfinches, 7 waxbills, 1 suzaku, 1 yellow-throated bunting and 1 peacebird. The above-mentioned birds have been transferred to the Tianjin Wildlife Rescue and Breeding Center for resettlement. At present, the parties involved in the case are being dealt with in accordance with laws and regulations.
During the "Qingfeng Action", the Municipal Bureau of Planning and Resources will organize the Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Corps to continue to strengthen coordination with other departments, continue to maintain a high-pressure posture, give full play to the joint force of law enforcement, and form a good work pattern of "basic work, detailed investigation and evidence collection, comprehensive deployment and control, and severe crackdown". At the same time, we will persist in popularizing the law while enforcing the law, publicize laws and regulations related to the protection of wild animals, guide the public to further improve the awareness of law compliance, law-abiding and ecological protection, consciously resist illegal activities related to wildlife trade, and actively create a good environment for the protection of wildlife resources in our city.
