In order to further investigate the population, quantity and distribution of wild animals in the Guzhigesitai National Nature Reserve in Xiwuzhu Muqinqi, in November 2020, the Management Office of the Guzhigesitai Nature Reserve deployed 30 infrared cameras to carry out winter and spring wildlife monitoring. Recently, scientific researchers have collected and collated monitoring data. Through preliminary statistics, a total of 10 species of wild mammals were photographed, including red deer, lynx, raccoon, red fox, Asian badgers, wild boars, Siberian roe deer, chipmunks, Mongolian grass rabbits, and weasels.
Among them, for the first time in the Guzhigestai National Nature Reserve, 3 lynx were photographed in the same frame, because the lynx belonged to a solitary animal, and 3 social groups could be found at one time, which was rare, and it was very likely that a family of three could be found. The lynx belongs to the family cat family, with a thick body, a very short tail, thick and long limbs, towering tufts of hair at the tip of the ears, and a black tail end. Lynx lynx often live in forest shrubland, dense forest, feeding on small and medium-sized animals such as rodents, hares, roe deer, etc., and is a medium beast. Because its fur is extremely precious, it has been endangered by wild hunting and killing, and it is listed in the National Second-level Key Protected Animals and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
In recent years, the Management Office of The Gurigestai Nature Reserve in West WuzhuMuqi has continuously implemented the ecological concept of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains", protecting the natural ecological environment and protecting biodiversity. Through the implementation of a series of measures such as natural forest protection, grazing ban, migration and relocation, and ecological restoration and management, the habitat of wild animals and plants has been improved, the population of wild animals and plants can be recuperated, and the biodiversity of the Gurigustai Nature Reserve has been effectively protected.
