2. Clinical symptoms
In the early stage of the disease, the nasal mirror is dry, the appetite is exhausted, the rumination is slow, the belching is reduced, and the feces are less dry and dark. Later rumination and defecation stop. Rumen peristalsis is weakened on auscultation, and the valve gastric peristalsis is absent, often secondary to rumen accumulation and puffing. On palpation of the flap gastric area (the level of the shoulder joint on the 7th to 9th rib on the right side of the sheep), the sick sheep present with pain and restlessness. As the disease progresses, necrosis can occur in the lobules of the valve stomach, causing sepsis, increased body temperature, and accelerated breathing and pulse. Third, prevention and control methods
1. Prevention
(1) Let the sheep drink enough clean and hygienic drinking water.
(2) There is no sediment in feed, water and food trough, especially to prevent sheep from licking the saltpeter sediment.

2. Treatment
(1) Mild cases can be taken internally with laxatives and drugs that promote anterior gastric peristalsis: magnesium sulfate 80-100 grams, add 1500-2000 ml of water or use paraffin oil 500-1000 ml, one-time irrigation, while intravenous injection of pro-rumination injection 200-300 ml; in order to promote anterior gastric peristalsis, 10% sodium chloride 50-100 ml, 10% calcium chloride 20 ml, 20% sodium chloride injection 10 ml, intravenous injection.
(2) For severe cases, the flap gastric injection method is adopted: the sick sheep stands, and the injection site is 2 cm below the stomach of the 8th-9th intercostal and shoulder joint horizontal line on the right side of the sheep. After shearing and sterilizing, with a 12-gauge 7 cm long injection needle, pierce 4-5 cm deep in the direction of the contralateral shoulder joint. Then inject 25% magnesium sulfate 30-40 ml, paraffin oil 100 ml, 5% glucose saline 150 to 300 ml.
