On June 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized an expert group of relevant experts from the national wheat industry system to conduct actual harvest and yield measurement on three wheat high-yield fields in three townships in Woyang County, Bozhou City. "The average yield of these three fields is more than 800 kilograms, and the highest is the 'Ceres Wheat 19' wheat field in Xinxing Town, with a yield of 860.6 kilograms." The average yield of the other two plots reached 847.1 kg and 823.81 kg respectively, both of which set a new record of 819.85 kg of wheat yield in our province in 2020. High-yielding plots don't stop there. In order to promote the production of high-quality special wheat and improve the level of yield, this year the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs launched the activity of finding the "highest yield of wheat in Anhui Province". On June 3, a high-yield demonstration field in Fanying Village, Yingquan District, Fuyang City, was accepted, and the yield reached 851.05 kg, which also set a new record last year. On June 4, the Zhanghu Group of Hanhu Village, Xuxu Township, Huaiyuan County, Bengbu Province, measured the yield, and the average yield reached 808.78 kg, setting a record for the yield of Anhui along huaimai.

The data is extraordinary. From the perspective of Anhui, it shows that the level of wheat production has risen to a new level; from the overall situation, the bumper summer grain harvest means that Anhui has not borne the heavy trust, successfully completed the tasks entrusted by the state, resisted and stabilized the burden of food security, and also made a good start and made a good start for grain production throughout the year.
How do you think about the new yield record in many places? Cao Gaofei told reporters that this year's wheat production situation is gratifying, the overall yield showed an upward trend, in addition to the highest yield greatly refreshed last year's record, the measured yield yield of more than 800 kilograms of land, is this year's outstanding features. In particular, the Bengbu Zhanghu Formation, which is located in the wheat area along the Huai rice stubble, because the production conditions have been limited in the past, the wheat yield here has been a big gap compared with the Huaibei region, and the yield exceeded 800 kg this time is very rare.

This shows that after a period of hard work, the overall level of wheat production in our province has risen to a higher level. Cao Gaofei believes that this is mainly due to the continuous promotion of high-quality special grain production, the increase of scientific and technological support and the mechanization of agricultural machinery, coupled with the favorable overall climate this year, especially the later weather is suitable for wheat filling, which has contributed to a bumper harvest.
Since 2017, our province has launched the implementation of high-quality special brand grain production, the core of which is to process certain varieties, implement centralized contiguous single variety planting, and promote standardized management. Large-scale planting of a single variety has greatly improved the accuracy and availability of technical solutions, which can solve the problems existing in a certain variety in a targeted manner, give full play to the strengths and avoid the shortcomings, and give full play to the potential of increasing production.
Judging from the wheat this season, the province has implemented a total of 43 demonstration townships, towns and streets with a single variety of wheat and large-scale planting, 400 demonstration areas of more than 10,000 mu, and an area of 26.82 million mu of high-quality special wheat, accounting for more than 60% of the total area. In the case of Fuyang, a major grain city, its high-quality special wheat has developed from 1.5 million mu in 2017 to 5 million mu of high-quality wheat this year, accounting for more than 66% of the city's area.

The development of agricultural mechanization has provided a guarantee for increasing production. At present, the three major staple grains, including wheat, have been mechanized in our province. From the perspective of sowing links, now the machine sowing density is relatively uniform, the sowing quality is high, and with high-quality varieties, it can achieve a high and uniform seedling yield; in the management link, the plant protection machinery of the first opportunity, especially the unmanned aerial vehicle, is widely used, which improves the efficiency and coverage of pest control; in the harvesting link, with the accelerated integration of agricultural machinery agronomy, the update and iteration of machinery, the harvest efficiency is significantly improved, and the loss rate is reduced.
The new record is extraordinary, but also reflected in food security. As we all know, the current issue of food security is receiving unprecedented attention.
