Recently watched a play and was completely impressed by Colin Farrell!
The impression of Colin Farrell, looking like this—

But in this play, he looks like this —
Another nude photo on the back, a large waist and a round waist, where is the appearance of a half-parted man?
If it weren't for him in the list of protagonists, I really wouldn't have recognized him!
Judging the appearance of the two people, it is really rough enough.
And the drama he starred in is really raw enough.
"North Sea Whale Dream"
Different from HBO's "Yellow Storm" and Netflix's wonderful imagination, the BBC's British drama has always been a retro and cold road, and this "North Sea Whale Dream" is a very typical BBC drama.
Adapted from Ian McGuire's original book of the same name, which was named one of the New York Times' Top Ten Books, it tells the story of a whale hunting ship in the Arctic.
In order to truly restore the original work, the crew went all the way north to shoot the scene in the Svalbard Islands at 81° north latitude, and the actors also filmed live on the ship.
Although the whole play is gloomy and dark, the scenes on the ship sometimes look dark.
But if you look closely, from the exterior of the whaling ship to the costumes of the actors, everything is full of texture.
Coupled with sophisticated lines and the language of the divine lens, the overall brings a blockbuster level enjoyment.
0 1
The story takes place in 1859.
This is a special time for the whaling industry.
Prior to this, blubber was an important fuel in society, and the whaling industry was seen as a code for wealth and flourished.
But as oil was discovered and utilized, the market for blubber shrank dramatically, as whales became fewer and fewer because of the development of the whaling industry.
By this time, whaling was already a thinning industry.
Sumner (Jack O'Connell), a surgeon.
Well-educated and skilled, he came down from the Indian battlefield and should have had a better place to go, but he came to apply for a job as a ship doctor on a whaling ship.
He did not tell anyone that he had become an outcast of his superiors on the battlefield, had been tried by a military tribunal, had already become infamous, and had nowhere to go.
In order to make a living, he carefully concealed his past and made up excuses, which gave him the opportunity to work as a ship doctor on a whaling ship.
Drax (Colin Farrell), a harpooner on a whaling ship.
This big man is impressive from the moment he appears.
After prostituting prostitutes in cramped little rooms, Drax went to the tavern to drink, he was penniless, but cheekily asked his boss to give him a drink under various pretexts.
The guest next to him was annoyed and promised to invite him to have a drink, a cup of belly, and Drax asked the family to ask for a second cup, which was refused.
When the guest was out, Drax, who was hiding in the alley, stabbed him.
From the poster, you can see that this drama adopts the form of a double male protagonist.
Sumner and Drax are two diametrically opposed characters.
Sumner, well-educated, was treated unfairly on the battlefield and lived in the bloody nightmares of the battlefield all day long.
Drax, the rough guy, force was his means of survival, and killing people was commonplace for him.
These two men, one symbolizes civilization and the other symbolizes barbarism.
It is worth mentioning that -
Samner, the civilized doctor, is constrained at every turn.
Instead, it was the savage and fierce harpoon hand Drax, who mixed up like a fish.
In urban society, The Doctor Sumner wears decent clothes and weaves elaborate lies to conceal the past, but he can't deceive anyone but himself.
In the eyes of the shipowner's wealthy merchants, the humble doctor Sumner is not worth mentioning, but the harpooner Drax, who does not play according to common sense, is more worthy of attention.
When he got to the whaling ship, Sumner's decency was even more out of place, and when he vomited in the cabin, the others were blowing more and more windy, and the song was more and more loud.
In the eyes of this group of old men, Sumner's decency is too unruly, and the capable harpooner Drax is his own.
When I first watched the show, I thought it was a story of redemption.
Sumner, who has been tortured on the battlefield, exiles himself and travels all the way north in an attempt to redeem himself from it, which also sounds idealistic.
But the truth is that not long after the whaling ship departed, the doctor Sumner was drunk by the harpooner Drax and the first mate.
They wanted to rip off Sumner's decency to see what secrets he was hiding, and sure enough, they found the documents of his court-martial trial and the ring he had brought back from the battlefield.
Drax and the first mate quietly put the ring back in, but they both had the idea of the ring.
Pity Sumner, living day and night in the nightmares of the past, and forcing himself to be decent in front of people.
As everyone knows, his past has long been seen through.
As the boats moved north, the population became sparser, the glaciers thickened, and the situation facing Sumner became more and more difficult.
As a ship doctor, he found—
A boy on board was sexually assaulted.
When asked who the culprit was, the boy was too scared to say a word. Even so, the boy was killed soon after.
Who sexually assaulted him?
Who killed him again?
The first officer insisted that the carpenter was the murderer, but Sumner did not find a single piece of evidence from the carpenter.
At a critical moment, Drax, the harpooner, came forward again to provide testimony, saying that he had seen the carpenter and the boy sneaking around.
The camps on board are clear.
Sumner is the one who seeks justice.
In contrast, Harpooner Drax and first officer insist that the carpenter is guilty, while the captain hopes to put an end to the situation as soon as possible.
The camps are opposed, and the doctor Sumner is clearly at a disadvantage.
And he didn't know that the justice he was upholding was inadvertently touching a big secret.

Whaling is becoming less and less profitable, why does this ship have to be afraid of hard work and go further and further north?
The real reason is -
This ship is not for whaling, but for fraud!
Long before the journey began, the shipowner had bought a huge amount of insurance.
Just wait for the ship to have an accident in the middle of the way, and collect a huge insurance payment by yourself.
In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the plan, the ship must need the cooperation of people.
The captain and first mate are insiders.
If necessary, Harpooner Drax will also be pulled into the plan to help them destroy the ship.
With Drax's keen insight, although no one has yet informed him of the plan, he has generally done it.
But invisibly, The Doctor Sumner is already on the opposite side of these people in power on the ship.
But the three people he opposed were not indestructible.
Doctor Sumner finds a tooth inside Harpooner Drax and identifies him as the boy's killer.
At this point, the captain and the first officer could no longer be covered, and the three people tied to a rope began to fall apart.
Everyone can give each other a knife at any time at a critical time, and the situation is constantly changing.
The ship travels to the north, and the people's hearts are strange.
Spiritual "redemption" is no longer worth mentioning, "survival" is the only theme.
This test of survival, on the one hand, comes from the evil of human nature.
The owner of the ship, thousands of miles away, had planned the death of a ship long before the ship was set.
And among the people in this boat, some people are completely unaware, some are inserting knives into each other, and some are changing their original intentions little by little in the process of pursuing justice.
On the other hand, it comes from environmental risks.
Many of the scenes in the play are a must.
The beauty of the screensaver is shocking, but it also hides a crisis.
As the ship moved norther, the climate became worse and worse, and man's animalistic instincts became more and more prominent.
The scene of the seal hunting is amazing in scale and especially shocking.
The big ship docked, and one by one the rough men with shotguns descended onto the glacier, and the heavens and the earth were white, and people looked so small between heaven and earth.
But as soon as the gunshots rang out, there were even weaker seals crying out in mourning.
Knives shot out, flesh and blood flowed, harpooner Drax moved fiercely, neatly peeling and cutting flesh, leaving a touch of scarlet on the glacier.
Far from human society, barbarism is the only way to survive.
This kind of fierce shot is not uncommon in this drama.
Fish de Drax and people punch each other to the flesh, knives wipe people's necks when the blood flows.......
Blood is blurred when dissecting seals, blood is flowing when killing whales, bleeding when eating fresh meat...
This is the most vivid and intuitive visual experience, which hits people's hearts in minutes.
In such a desperate situation, it is not surprising that a person has undergone a big change.
When Sumner hunted polar bears in desperate times, skinned and dug up meat, and hid inside polar bears for warmth, I couldn't say anything but "shock."
Although Little Plum has had a similar operation as early as "The Revenant".
But when the protagonist was replaced by a decent and somewhat weak doctor, Sumner, and the location was changed to the deserted Arctic, I still felt a deep shock.
Admittedly, this is not an easy drama to watch.
The overall painting style is dark and dreary, and the initial plot advancement depends on the lines.
A large number of characters appear, need to remember people's names, remember faces, and are really not friendly to people with blind faces.
But when the boats start to set sail for the North Pole and everyone is on the same boat, it's much easier to sort out the plot.
There is a conflict between each character, the plot naturally advances with the conflict, creating a small climax from time to time, and many lines are more and more meaningful, which makes people speculate and associate with it.
The small volume of five episodes, as long as you survive the first ten minutes -
Believe me, the final experience of watching the show will not disappoint you.
