The Raptors announced today that they will cut veteran center Aaron Baines.

Baynes' contract for the 2021-22 season is worth $7.35 million, but it is completely unprotected, and the Raptors cut it before the deadline, thus successfully cutting the total salary to $9.3 million below the luxury tax line, and they currently have four lineup gaps to fill.

Baynes had a disappointing performance with the Raptors last season, averaging 6.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 53 games and shooting just 26.2 percent from three-point range.
