In competitive sports, behind every champion is the silent dedication and hard work of countless people, and the Wuhan Swimming Team is no exception. On the morning of May 10, at the Wuhan Children's Sports School, coaches Lin Zhengqi and Chen Manshi, who had just triumphed from the National Swimming Championships and Olympic Games Selection Competition, and team members Chen Jie, Ai Yanhan, Yu Zongda, and Wang Yutian told the Yangtze River Daily reporter about their fragments in the process of preparing for and competing for the championship.

Intimate guarantee, every week boiling soup sent to the provincial Olympic sports

Lin Zhengqi said that due to the impact of the epidemic last year, the preparation work of the Wuhan swimming team was more tortuous than that of teams in other regions, but fortunately, the Wuhan Municipal Sports Bureau provided a strong logistical support, which eliminated the worries of the team's peace of mind training.

For most of 2020, the Wuhan swimming team was divided into two: coach Lin Zhengqi and team members Chen Jie, Ai Yanhan and Wang Yutian stayed in the national team for nearly 10 months of closed training; Coach Chen Manshi led Yu Zongda, Yan Weize and other team members to resume training at the Provincial Olympic Sports Center on April 20 last year under the overall arrangement of the Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau's National Games preparation and training. In order to strengthen the nutrition of athletes and ensure the level of sports training, Wuhan Children's Sports School arranges for canteen chefs to cook chicken soup and rib soup every week, purchase milk, fruits, dumplings, bread and other foods every half a month, and arrange special personnel to send them to the provincial Olympic Sports Center to "add meals" to the swimming teams training there.

For Ai Yanhan and others who train in other places, the Municipal Sports Bureau has adopted the form of purchasing services to provide special training logistics support services such as nutrition, sports rehabilitation, and scientific research. "Swimmers have very high physical requirements, and if nutrition does not keep up, it will lead to insufficient physical fitness. It can be said that the logistical support of our Wuhan swimming team is not inferior to that of the national team. Lin Zhengqi said movingly that without the strong logistics support mechanism of the Municipal Sports Bureau, the Wuhan swimming team could not have achieved the outstanding results in the National Swimming Championships and Olympic Games Trials.

Joining the party before the game, "veteran team member" Chen Jieli fought for the Olympic ticket

"At the age of 26, it is very admirable that she has been able to maintain the top level in the country for so many years, and watching her game is very solid." Speaking of Chen Jie, the "eldest sister" among the Wuhan swimmers, Yu Chuanfa, the person in charge of the training and competition of the Municipal Children's Sports School, could not help but extend his thumb.

Yu Chuanfa revealed that on April 26, the day before the Wuhan swimmers went out to the National Championships and Olympic Games Selection Competition, Chen Jie gloriously became a preparatory party member of the COMMUNIST Party at the party member meeting of the Municipal Children's Sports School. In the competition, Chen Jie also fully embodied the role of pioneer model with her fighting spirit. In the women's 100m backstroke final, Chen Jie fought hard and unexpectedly defeated her Hubei teammate Peng Xuwei, who was several years younger than her, and won the gold medal in this event again after two years, reaching the A standard of the Tokyo Olympic Games, and getting the Olympic ticket for the third time. "Before the race, I thought about fighting, especially to withstand the last 15 meters of sprint." Chen Jie said.

His 4-year-old son was hospitalized, and the young coach didn't have time to go home until after the game

During the competition, the 4-year-old son of young coach Chen Manshi was admitted to the hospital due to illness, and although she was anxious, she waited until the end of the game for all the team members before leaving Qingdao to return to Wuhan.

Chen Manshi, a young coach of the Wuhan swimming team, has been training with the Wuhan swimming team for six weeks in Yunnan since December last year, and has also traveled to Hebei to participate in the National Swimming Championships, and then to Qingdao to participate in the National Championships and Tokyo Olympic Trials. During the period, from formulating training plans to implementing training subjects, from blood sampling physiological and biochemical indicators to specific analysis of completion intensity, from extreme heart rate to high-intensity completion of performance analysis, Chen Manshi and Coach Lin Zhengqi, who had coached the national team for 7 years, threw themselves into busy work.

Yu Chuanfa said: "As a female coach, she is also an emotional regulator between male coaches and team members, sometimes Coach Lin loses his temper with team members in training, Coach Chen always communicates with team members in a timely manner, so that the emotions of young team members are instantly relieved, so as to focus more on training." ”

During the National Championships and Olympic Trials, Chen Manshi learned through her family phone that her 4-year-old child was hospitalized due to illness. "I was so anxious because my husband also worked in the professional team, but thinking that the players had been preparing for this game for so long and paying too much, they needed me even more." Chen Manshi said that she did not fly back to Wuhan that night until all the members of the Wuhan team finished the game. (Yangtze River Daily reporter Zhu Wenxiu)
